I had same issue but I was using the Mod. I installed an unmodded 0.8 and game played on from 0.7 with no problem.

Yeah I got rid of that and it worked

I wonder what the Patreons are requesting during update schedules, because I hope it's not too heavily influenced on this update where they requested more sexual content. Although it could be that the lore heavy updates has finally caught up with Caribdis and we're closing in on the conclusion, so we're speed running a bit on the girls' development.

The animation are top notch, great episode in terms of sexual content, but writing/pacing wise left a bit more to desire but I can't really fault him for the change in pace because the plot was moving a bit fast in comparison to some of the girls' development prior to this update.

You can tell they had quite a bit of fun with the new (engine?) during development this time around heh.

I have no idea why people are gushing so much over how great this update is. I have never skipped anything in this game and generally read through everything...until the office scene. Idgaf about the picture on the desk, it's supposed to be a nightmare scene, whatever. But the narrator is annoying, it drags on for too long, and the whole thing is irritating. I ended up just clicking through it as fast as possible, even all the scenes with the girls and whatever the hell Annie was going on about there at the end. So far that makes this the worst update...nothing until now managed to get me to skip because it was so trash.

Understandable complaints about this update. This is just me assuming things, but I feel like this update was more so of a showcase of the new (engine?) and the increased production value to his game. They were a bit behind schedule this time around, so they might've gotten a bit carried away with experimentation and put less emphasis on the writing, which did take a hit in this update. Or it could've been a creative decision to slow down the pace of the plot, who knows. I have faith in Caribdis for the next update, his track record has been top notch.
