Used to be one of my older theories that Orion and Thanny were lab grown (with Thanny being an older experiment that went horribly wrong). But as time goes on I feel like Eternum lore is leaning more into the fantastical/spiritual rather than the scientific/logical so I discarded those theories.

My first thought is that Caly and Orion are related, in the sense of how Aragorn and Arwen from LOTR are related. But I don't know if that is applicable since it seems were on a time loop.

Remains to be seen if that's the case or if it's more of a reincarnation loop ala Planescape: Torment (or the Xeno series for that matter) or if Idriel and the Syndicate are the only ones "looping" due to their connection to a realm where the concept of time doesn't exist so they could essentially see past, present, and (possible) future(s) happening simultaneously while the rest of existence chugs along in normie time (kinda like the Lutece "twins" from Bioshock: Infinite).

What do you mean by "use it", since you will no longer have a game to use it with?

That's weird. I also play on Android, and didn't have anything like that happen. Did you follow the correct procedure of downloading both the apk and the rpa file separately and then ensuring that the rpa was in the correct folder? You have to go through that annoying procedure because if the rpa was bunded into the apk as with most RenPy games, it would take the apk over the maximum allowable size.

Downloaded both, updated the Apk and then replaced the old .rpa.

Permissions transfer on updates and I can see the 0.7 ending and the scenes from all my other saves before. So yes. It just ends where 0.8 should start.

Maybe your final 0.7 was made too late, after the cut-off point? Have your tried your immediately previous save to that instead, which hopefully won't involve redoing too much stuff?

Does this happen when starting from a save on the end screen of 0.7? Have you tried earlier saves or rolling back? Might be related to the following issue, where I encountered something that sounds exactly like what you described
Edit: also, which version exactly are you using? the issue I found was in 0.8, not sure if 0.8.5 fixes it or not

Something I found out from a few tests. The ending screen for 0.8 is coded like the one from 0.7, so any save made on the ending screen will act as if you had already reached it and end the game, sending you back to the main menu. Call it a bug or an error, shit happens. I originally replayed a bit, so I didn't even notice.
Starting from any earlier save or rolling back gave me no issues and I could play the update from that same downloaded version.
This is what happens when people download unfixed early access leaks instead of official releases and don't give it any additional thought.

Isn't that pretty much part of the whole game narrative? He mentions multiple times that he doesn't even feel up to the task but he keeps going because he has no choice

Feels like they're setting up some kind of Captain Planet arc ("by your powers combined...") for the final fight against Thanatos, especially with how badly he fucked Orion up this episode he will probably need support from all the LIs and the friends he made along the way. We all know President Stabb will come in and save the day at the last second.

On another note I personally want to thank Cari for the Alex scene in this update. Didn't have to be there but it was. Missed this girl so much. Thank you.

Renpy 8 sucks, it is not compatible with older saves., either.
i stil do not understand why the developpers change the renpy engine, during a game developpement. it bothers users, it is useless. they should change the renpy engine only if they make a new game.

I think you've a bigger problem if your PC got a CPU from pre 2004.
