Cari has said that animating more than 3 characters on the screen takes A LOT of processing power and time, so it's basically not worth it.

Totally could be, and the Lunannie threesome is only a fallback, but why have that and only that variable check? Wouldn't make much sense if a player was on only Luna and Annie path if this led only to the harem end or some other threesome, since players would get the line and then it wouldn't come true. While Cari is a troll, I would argue that the check is still a good indicator in spite of what he's baiting us with on discord
Could be a different threesome, but maybe not the one hinted on here.
Oh no, I definitely take that scene at the cafe as suggesting something lewd involving at least MC, Annie, and Luna--I don't think there's any other way to take it, really (even without knowing about the check for Annie's path in the code). Someone else could be involved, but I'm leaning toward "Cari's just trolling us" on that question. Annie/Dalia would then be a different one--one with much less explicit foreshadowing, but not without it entirely. Remember this?
Sure, she's nervous and flustered that her crush of the past eight years has said he likes her. She probably didn't mean to say that--but it was still in her mind somewhere.
And we have precedent for this--by the end of 0.7, we'd seen a few hints of a Penny/Nova threesome, but I can't think of word one suggesting Nova/Nancy. But...

Sometimes Cari likes to do shortcuts/assumptions with his code so in this case he's assuming that you're on the harem path since you're both on Luna's and Annie's paths. Shit got him in trouble at some point back in 0.6 when he didn't make a branching path for people who got killed during the Collector event while having the Amulet of Blair because he assumed no one took it.

True, but wouldn't the harem path have been a single variable as well? Did not check how that was coded. Which again, makes it look like he's shortcutting code since Orion having an epiphany in 0.7 about fooling around with the girls and sorting out his feelings for them implies he's on the harem path but turns out the path isn't even on by then.True,however it wasn't used before 0.8

I can´t imagine how long it takes to make those lewd scenes and this update being the biggest so far obviously meant more development time. Plus, with the setbacks that Cari mentioned, I think it´s understandable that it took so long. I just hope that the next update goes back to being around 8 months again, and even Cari said the update would be shorter, so it will probably take less time. We hope.

That was the point of my suggestion, and I can't think why not. If "living under the same roof" is a problem, then MC can't be with anyone in the house, and, well... Annie isn't related to anyone else in the game.
