Starting to think all those early nightmares Orion was having plus the encounter with the founder about saving people he loves and possibly the time loop plotline will heavily play in that update. So savour this Dalia sized big ass update, it’s possibly the calm before the storm

You do realize how nonsensical what you're saying is right ? You're literally saying having extra people for some unit of work takes more time than doing the same thing alone. I guess the pharaoh back in Egypt 4000 years ago should have done all the work by himself for his pyramid, he would have finished way faster obviously...

Now, even forgetting your ridiculous argumentation from before, what credentials do you have to prove this statement lol ? Stop giving random numbers as if you knew the field when you know nothing about it. Yes, Caribdis work has a very high standard, but the amount of technical work and creative work of the last update is perfectly achievable in 6 months. A very simple and undeniable proof is that Caribdis himself was providing this work output in the first updates, even more in 6 months of time. It is obvious his output has been much slower these past two years. Even though, fortunately, the quality of his work has been steady however.

Now stop arguing about the same thing ever and ever, you won't get any simp points with this.

...So are you being purposefully blind or did you just ignore what the dev himself said in the link in my post that he has everything done for the update EXCEPT for the one scene that he and his animator literally need 2-3 weeks to work on which I cited as an example that having an extra pair of hands doesn't mean that dev speed goes faster?

Ah yes, the first updates that have less render count and quality issues that he himself had admitted on Discord existed...

...which he uses as justification for wanting to work on his renders a lot more than usual, hence the current pacing that we have now compared to before, and that he'd rather stick to that instead of going back to that level of quality (even tho the latter is the quicker route).

Jestur is the only one that takes as long as Eternum 0.9, but he has always worked slowly.

The biggest time sink is animations, and Caribdis stopped doing them himself.

The level of quality in Eternum today means that updates every six months isn't feasible, even with an animator. But I doubt Caribdis himself is happy with the update taking more than a year. He has projects he wants to make in the future, so he's not trying to milk the audience on this one story.

Given historical trends, 7-8 months for his usual ~1500 render updates seems to be a reasonable expectation. With this one being more than 2200, 10 months is probably what he'd have preferred (remember writing time is going to be equal for both so it's not as simple as dividing renders by time taken for an average time increase). For a game like Eternum, with extremely limited branching and alternative scenes, and with the resources Caribdis has because of the game's success, a year is much too long.

I'm an Eternum glazer, but even I can't do the mental gymnastics to convince myself otherwise.

Well yes, which is why he said he was scaling down some of the upcoming chapters to rectify the issue, and not throwing additional manpower at it because unlike building a damn pyramid making an AVN is a creative endeavour that doesn't get built in a straight line. Sometimes dev redos renders when he's not satisfied, sometimes he adds a new scene because he came up with a joke or two that would fit well, discards a render or two after realizing it had issues that he didn't see the first time around, or replaces a scene entirely because it worked in the outline but the execution left much to be desired or it bloated the narrative (such was the case of the New World arc where he split the thing in two and moved the planned cliffhanger for Orion in 0.8 into 0.7 instead).

And sometimes yes, the animator has suggestions while working something out so Cari puts that into consideration and they test it out, which again adds to the dev time because you can't rush the damn process if you want to because those animations are done by hand and not presets like what he used mainly in the early updates (which is another reason why they were a lot faster to make than the recent ones and people seem to not realize that because they don't understand how AVN dev't - or software dev't for that matter - works).

Ok, first, remember that Orion and Dalia were themselves in that mission. They didn't use the neural implants. It's not "dream sex," it's not "game sex," it's really them traveling to another world and then fucking.

Second, hard disagree on the scene not having any emotional elements. It's not as touchy-feely as some of the other scenes, obviously, but it's a huge commitment from Dalia to a man she's been building feelings for a long time. One who just saved her from getting raped and/or murdered. Just because she didn't throw herself into his arms and ask if she could have his babies doesn't mean there wasn't a lot of emotion going on in that scene.

Replaying the game at the moment, i think i found where Orion and Luna will go on a date. In the car, on the road to Luna's family for the Day of the Dead, they speak about haunted farm. One where the a son skinned alive his family and cut off their limbs. With the visitors claiming to have seen visions or heard voices, which is something that happens to Orion sometimes.

Also the last sneak peak's images

Do you guys think it this will be normal date, or plot related things will happen?

It was mentioned in Discord that the house looks similar to Wyatt's, tho.

Hence the argument by some on Discord (and theorized by Hench here) that it could be the killer's house and that the map asset is reused, with the water surrounding the place (hence the reflection of the front of the house on the ground) being added to make it look "different" from Wyatt's. :HideThePain:
