The dev who makes race of life just released an update with 4.5k renders and 11 gallery scenes in 7.5 months so i don't know what you are on about? Caribdis isn't a milker but there are a lot of devs who deliver faster updates having 1/10th patrons than him, and the guy is right 1.6k renders isn't a lot for 8 months.

Pointless comparing renders to other games you don't know what goes on in their RL if spend every minute of every day fixed on their screen. Plenty of devs can smash out the renders it's the animations that are the killer just look at Ceolag with The Neverwhere Tales managing 172 renders a week but barely 1 animation. Like it was said above it's all down to the software/hardware they got and free time they have. But at least the update is coming unlike many broken promises from other devs
