Those are annoying but the number keys thankfully work or those screens would be impossible to progress beyond.

Is...is this a cheap joke? What am I missing?

Those scenes obviously deliberately have that quirk and you can progress beyond those points without using a keyboard.

1 important thing that this game is lacking and should be in there by default, considering the huge amount of time between updates, should be a proper end o the update and with the next , we should have a Recap feature (skippable) as many others VN have. this way one can remember what happened 6-12 months ago and we'd have a better flowing experience..expecially considering how much the story weight in this great game. strange dev didn't think about this..really

Walkthrough states you should buy the statue from the Syndicate tho while taking the amulet from the Founder is discouraged.

Also in the part where a beggar asks for money on the roman empire server, you're encouraged by the walkthrough to give him some money, and when you do, he says someting along the lines of "the other ones were also kind to me"
