It is because of how the game is designed. There are many games that have larger updates yet they feel significantly shorter when you sit down and play the update.I'm amazed at how much content there is in 0.8. No wonder it took a while to come out. At first I thought the end of the content was going to come just after our hero got back from the pirate planet, then I thought it was going to come after, then I thought it was surely going to end after the dinner date with Annie, and then I thought it was going to end afterYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. That is because if you are on the harem path, you see all the content in a single playthrough. Unlike many other games, you dont have unique scenes for monogamous playthroughs and there is literally no reason to pick anything other than the harem route. If you decide not to go harem, you end up skipping entire sections of the game instead seeing new/unique scenes for monogamous paths. The entire development is focused on just the harem route so the dev is not spending their time/effort doing other routes. This allows it to present more content to the player assuming they are on the harem path.
And imo this is a very good decision that the developer made. While branching sounds nice on paper the reality is not many people are going to play the same thing more than once or twice.
