Several things: First, above all, this is a porn game, and realism is not the priority. Second, with Alex's situation, you will find out more about it as you play. She does not have the typical rich girl situation. Her brother has a very different relationship with the family than she does. Nova should have more money, yes, I agree, but she seems to give it away very easily, so maybe she's not so good with money?
Remember that Nova and Annie seem to be successful in Eternum and have played for years at this point. So the money situation is more that they have the money in what they do in the game over merely having it in the real world.
Reminder that levels do jack shit except provide access to high level equipment and spells, so a high level person is still as squishy as a low level person (see: Jerry).

Except it's sort of like bitcoin in that the game money is useful as cash in and out of Eternum... That's why it doesn't make much sense. Annie never comes off as broke, like Nova and Alex do. Alex has real reasons, Nova doesn't seem to.
What I'm suggesting is that Nova comes off as a high paying hitman based on what the story gives us from 0.3 when she meets Calypso as well as the mystery game where she's calling out lies. If she's based her income on Eternum, it's because of what she can get away with in the game because of her skillset and assets.

Yeah. Im contradicting myself. Maybe Raul and Noah said eternals are less traceables. But also Annie (i think) said people have jobs in Eternum and every month they change their eternals for real money. So it is not difficult.
