I think people really should understand this concept and what's expected...

Orion is AWAY from the harem and close to royalty for a good long while.

Of all the people, Nancy is a newly made empress while Calypso is an elven princess with staff to help build Orion into a legendary warrior in some capacity.

The entire dynamic here is that Calypso can pretty much decide his fate as royalty.

No one else has this kind of power.

Alex is a "princess" that lives as a commoner now, Dalia and Penny are basically the Empress' daughters, Annie and Luna are commoners or battle mages respectively, and Nova is the librarian staff.

I mean, let's be fair here. We're seeing an elven princess in her natural habitat. Is it really hard to think she'll test the prowess of her champion or whatever they have going on?

[0.9] - Progress Report

Hello everyone!

It’s been quite a while since my last progress report, so I thought now would be a great time to share a quick update on how development is going!

As you already know if you read my previous posts, the start of version 0.9’s development was a bit rough. A lot happened all at once, and I wasn’t exactly operating at peak productivity for a few weeks. But as you probably know already too, things are going better now. I’m back to my usual pace, and although there’s still work to do to make up for that slow start, progress is moving steadily.

As you can see in the pinned post, we’re currently sitting at 44% complete (though keep in mind that number is just an estimate—it becomes more accurate as we get closer to 100%). So far, I’ve completed 741 renders and 25 animations, all fully coded and with their corresponding dialogue! (over 6,900 lines of code, to be precise).

Now, I know I’ve said this for the last three updates in a row… but once again, I really do expect this to be the biggest update yet. More renders, more dialogue, and more hours of content than ever before!

The first part of the update will take place in Hyril’ar, Calypso’s realm.

This section will be a major part of the update and a crucial arc in the overall story. While parts of it will be optional or may branch based on your choices, it will feature plenty of important moments. You’ll uncover hidden secrets, meet a lot of new side characters—some friendly, others not so much—and, of course, grow closer to our magical elven princess. I’ve also been working on some cool new mechanics that I can’t wait for you to experience! (Don’t worry, no overly complicated minigames.)

If the first sneak peeks will mostly feature our elven friends, fear not—0.9 will contain much more. All the girls will have screen time, with some of them seeing key developments in your relationship with them. The main plot will also keep advancing steadily toward the grand finale, which gets closer and closer every day (while being still far, no panic).

In total, v0.9 will include 4 new lewd scenes, featuring at least five different girls—each one fully animated and similar in length to previous scenes.

Regarding Lorelei, I've seen a few people reply to me. I'm not going to bother responding to one specific person, because everyone on page 2094 made some really darn good points! In my opinion, I still think it could go either way. My simplified reasoning is:
1. The rules are different with Calypso. She said that herself in 0.6. So, Orion being loyal to the harem might not apply here.
2. While I do think that Orion is (and should be) largely focused on the harem now, I don't think side girl scenes are completely done with yet. I think they just have to happen under very specific circumstances now. For example, in my mind, the main reason why a character like Eulalie had no chance of getting a scene, is because of how blatantly disrespectful and inconsiderate she was to both Annie and Orion. However, if a character like Eulalie had met Orion at a different time, and chose a different (much more respectful) approach, under different circumstances, there'd be a higher chance of her getting a scene. That's kind of what I mean.

Feel free to explain why I'm wrong if you want. I'll admit it that it's far less likely that I'm right, and far more likely that I'm just dense and have missed the obvious cues, lol. I'm pretty tired as I'm writing this, and it's been a bit since I've actually played Eternum. So, I might have forgotten some important dialogue that indicates that the side girl stuff is over, haha. I really ought to replay Eternum before throwing myself into discussions like this again.

I've never thought about it from that angle before, but I really like that! And actually, now that you've brought that up as a possibility, I hope Caribdis goes with that! It would set things in motion for Caly's scene, it would give her and Orion's romance more development, and, most importantly, it would reinforce Orion's character development from 0.8, and show that he truly is loyal to his girls now! Good call, Zegion!

I just realized that the clothes Calypso wears in the progress report is not quite the same as in the sneak peeks. It's mostly the same but looks like she has changed the top she wears during the day into a night gown. Looks promising for everyone hoping to get a scene with her.

Agreed. I think if anything, Lorelei will simply be a catalyst to further the lust between Calypso and Orion.
I think her hinting at Orion being with one of her maids is simply to rationalise her romance with him.

Pure static render count wouldn't be the bottleneck that slows production, it'd be animations and what comes before the renders.

I presume Caribdis has a render machine or two, they'll be pumping out a decent amount of static renders every day, it'd be the writing/posing/coding that slows everything down.

Tbf he said himself, the number probably isn't particularly accurate. I'd personally be happy if we get a release by say November/December.

For now it realy looks like November/December but before i hoped for August/September. But looks like your predicted more accurately

Honey Select 2 (the software Cari uses for renders) isn't like Daz3D or Blender, it's a game with a built-in character creator and photo studio where you can use custom assets and backgrounds/maps and make images or videos with those. Creating renders with it is as simple as working with the poses, lighting, then taking a screenshot (tho Cari did mention that posing and lighting is where most of his time is spent nowadays as animation duty has been delegated to his full-time animator (Dread)).
