I dont follow news of the game much but heres hoping there will be more Alex content next update.
I completly agree, after all it's not like there are asian people in the US, Europe or even in the rest of Asia. Asian people who look asian definitely only exist in Japan.
Not only the characters btw, the servers clearly are only stuff that exist in Japan, so yeah, would definitely be more realistic.

The idea of being named Kevin and being Asian, or being named Nadia and also being Asian —
it's like finding an Arab named Chang, or a white American named Wataru.
It's kind of laughable.
Also, making the characters look Caucasian with colored eyes when they’re actually Asian —
that’s a whole other story on its own, lol.

Argument invalid. Orion doesn't look remotely close to a self-insert Kirito clone (as opposed to the many, MANY JP protags that look like they're based from that particular template). Hell, he even drops his slender athletic physique (which is standard for a lot of JP protags) in favor of a more muscular build (which is more common for Western protags as opposed to JP ones), so him being in Japan would make him stick out like a sore thumb.
Do you use the same argument for anime like "Black Lagoon" and "Jormungand" which are set outside of Japan starring mostly non-Japanese characters but whose art designs have that JP aesthetic?
The irony of thinking Japan is better in the horror and mystery aesthetic when two of the most famous horror game franchises (Resident Evil and Silent Hill) started off trying to mimic Western horror tropes (i.e. zombies, abandoned towns, ghosts).

The MC's appearance alone—and his large cock—is uncommon in Japan, which makes the game feel unrealistic, since the characters look Asian but their names and overall presentation aren’t.
I never said that horror originated in Japan—what I said is that Japan's atmosphere is better suited for horror and mystery stories, and anime alone is proof of that.
America lost its spark in horror movies and series a long time ago.

Disagree. They look like "realistic anime" since the dev is using a Japanese H game for his renders. But like what I was trying to get at with the Black Lagoon argument (which you seem to have conveniently ignored), using a certain art style does not mean you should be locked to a certain region or setting (otherwise by your logic EVERY anime should be set in Japan, no exceptions).

And yet the West still continues to produce horror movies and aren't slowing down in making them, unlike Japan whose output is being overshadowed by stuff made by SoKor.
Also, why do you even want the dev to utilize Japanese horror? Eternum's overall themes and references borrow heavily from Greek myth, and Orion's own character development is that of a Greek hero who is brought low by his own hubris until he eventually overcomes it. Hardly something compatible with Japanese horror (which mostly works by making the main character emasculated throughout the story).

Hmm...so as of Aug 1st, the status for this decent title is now at 68% for the next release. And with about 7000 paid subs total for this hugely supported title... I hope the next update will have some decent frame content (more than 1600 frames this time).
Well my fingers are crossed that we see a decent release by the end of this year, or maybe even earlier.

I might be wrong,but I heard somewhere that the next one will be the largest update,then they will become a bit smaller

[0.9] - Progress Report #2 Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Since I didn’t post much last month, I thought it’d be a good time for a brief Progress Report to basically let you all know that everything is still moving forward and on track!

About Recent Events
As many of you may have heard, and coinciding with this new wave of censorship that seems to be hitting many places at once, the payment processors (pressured by a small activist group) forced Steam and Itch.io to audit all the adult content in their libraries, leading to Itch.io having to shadow-ban all adult games from its catalog.
Although the game is free for everyone, Itch.io is my main platform for reaching new players and potential patrons, so losing that visibility put the project at serious risk. Even more concerning, this incident set a dangerous precedent where credit card companies could dictate what types of content are allowed on the internet, even if those games are completely legal and clearly labeled as adult games, like Eternum.
Luckily, yesterday adult games were re-listed on Itch.io (as long as they opted out of accepting money through that platform, either through donations or selling the game). While it's not exactly how things used to be, it's a step back towards normal. If nothing changes, you can expect me to continue posting the game there for free as usual. New updates will also continue being released here on Patreon as always have been, so no worries there either.
I’ll be honest, situations like this really spike my anxiety, like it happened with the music issue a few months ago (I swear, this development cycle seems cursed) and it unfortunately affects my productivity.
This is not an excuse, but I still get very frustrated when it happens.
I must say though, knowing I have such a loyal and supportive community makes all the difference. You guys keep me grounded, and I can’t thank you enough❤

I promise to keep working hard on Eternum, to see it through to the end, and, as long as I’m fortunate enough to continue making a living from this work, to bring you new stories and games beyond it. Your support is what makes all of this possible, and I’ll be forever grateful ❤

0.9 development
Now, on to the good stuff!
While the development of v0.9 has been rougher and slower than I’d hoped, we’ve already made good progress and completed a big chunk of content.
Like I mentioned before, this will be the biggest update yet. It’ll feature 4 new lewd scenes, a wide variety of different settings and characters, and many hours of new content. So far, there are already over 1,150 renders and more than 10,700 lines of code, and we’re still not done! (For comparison, versions 0.1 and 0.2 each had less than 10K lines.)
Many of the love interests will reach major turning points in their relationships with the MC, and the main plot will continue to move, slowly but surely, towards the grand finale of this epic journey.
You'll also see more and more harem interactions (for those in that path) between the girls.

I’m very excited to show you everything I’ve been working on, and I’ll keep pushing hard to get the update out as soon as possible.
This month, I’ll be posting new wallpapers (both SFW and NSFW), and at the end of the month… everyone’s favorite, new sneak peeks!
