I totally get you, and I felt the same at first with his previous game, Once in a Lifetime. Just try to play it for what it is, rather than what it isn't. You might enjoy it. There aren't many choices, so much as objectively right and wrong options, aside from two or three important ones that will most likely affect the ending, if his first game is to be referenced.

Thanks, I do enjoy the game. Love the art and the mix of humour, mystery, occasional horror and all the genre parodies. The girls themselves are great, but their relationships with the MC feel like the weakest part of the game. Deeper more individual paths for the girls would have made it top tier for me. But no worries if that's not what the dev is going for, it's still a fun ride and will enjoy it for what it is!

Both of them, in different ways and to different degrees, are trying to be the tough girl. They're getting feelings for MC, but don't want to admit it (see also, tsundere), and may not even be consciously aware of those feelings. So they're playing at "friends with benefits," and friends don't kiss.

And for that matter, it isn't entirely clear how much MC is romantically (as opposed to sexually) interested in them. Or is aware of, or is willing to admit, his romantic interest. With Annie, Luna, and Nova, it's obvious and mutual. But with these two, rather less so.

I'm sure Dalia and Alex have already confessed their love to MC, I could be wrong though.

They certainly haven't as of the end of 0.7, but I haven't seen most of the current update yet.

Even outside of porn, "friends with benefits" (or put differently, "sex without romance") is a thing that people at least try to do IRL. I don't believe it's very successful for very long in most cases--I'd expect that most of the time, one of them catches feelings for the other before too long. But this isn't some kind of wild, weird, unicorn scenario.

All I'm asking not to make 180 degree turn after serious conversation to straight porn scene. Kiss would be more appropriate, but since they are "not ready" and game follows a certain pattern, devs made BJ scene there.

Alex straight up tells Orion that she loves him at the end of her latest scene, and Dalia tells Orion she loves him at the start of her latest scene.

At least as a porn VN it falls flat on its face solely by being one of those games where the LIs get maybe a full sex scene by the end of the game before calling it quits, maybe ~ 1 or 2~ more scenes if the LI has more screen time than the rest of the cast.

The game also also follows the cardinal sin of "stairway to heaven" porn progression, which most new VNs got rid off because it is simply not realistic depiction of passion and sex and kinda of stupid. Stair to heaven progression is when you progress through fellatilo and sexual acts like it is leveling . Makeout-->handjob--->thighjob--->blowjob--> etc etc.

Its not all bad. The girls are cute and the plot is entertaining, but as a porn VN, from a eroticism standpoint, it fails hard.

Overrated? It's a great plot with well developed characters and good writing/grammar. Since Eternum's launch there's been many copy cat VNs.

So, subjectively, sure, anyone can think it's overrated, but statistically it's one of the top rated AVN's.

There's plenty of "Porn VN's" out there with nearly constant sex. This one is more about the story, world, and characters.

This.... my friend, I would have to disagree, eroticism in this game is actually executed in a way far better than most VNs, think of it this way, porn = good, porn + plot = better, porn + plot + craving + guaranteed god tier animation = sum godly shit.
Basically, the longer you wait, the better the wine tastes, kinda like the first girl you hook up with at the respectable establishment and the cat goddess( I forget their names) vs Alex and Annie's absolutely DIVINE first sex scene, those two are worlds apart.
As for eroticism, think of a naked girl and one in a lingerie, pantyhose etc, the sexy clothing IS part of the main course, sure I'd love a naked girl standing in a doorway before me but a black see-through lingerie in a red lit room is something else my friend.

For point 1, restrictions are there because Ulysses likely deem those as disruptive to the Gem Hunt. A few stragglers are likely okay as they could be dealt with by Praetorians and be set as examples to the general populace when punished, but overall Ulysses likely doesn't want the "game" to devolve into a complete sandbox, not when the point of the VRMMO is to aid the Founder in his quest for the gems and to foster a competitive atmosphere as a means to accelerate the hunt.

For point 2, having sex with NPCs could potentially break the programming of their implants and bring back their original personalities or memories of when they were alive, potentially exposing the truth about the VRMMO to the public, which Ulysses obviously wouldn't want to happen.

For point 3, appearance isn't changeable coz of existing lore and media depictions regarding astral projections, which in almost all depictions are a 1:1 copy of the person's actual body.

So for Point 1, killing can help further the hunt because players will kill other players to get stuff that might help them search for objects and even gems, while rape does nothing to reach that goal, it´s just rape for the sake of it.

For point 2, the games NPC´s are so embedded in the game that their human memories are buried to deep for them to remember them? But did the game already start using real people as NPCs? How did they do that? I don´t remember.

For Point 3, it makes sense, but it sucks for people who don´t have the same physic as Orion or the girls.

I don't see the point of doing a solo route. It's a harem VN, so going for solo routes just makes you lose most of the lewd content, alongside other... wholesome moments with the girls that aren't necessary lewd.

In this case, it´s not worth it to pursue anything other than the harem, since the story is headed that way. Some games have harem, this game is a harem.

Yeah, "creep on her in the bathroom" isn't exactly an intuitive way to keep her path.

In an AVN it usually is.
