Eternum will take around 10 years if the current development time remains as projected, because I think I read somewhere there are around 6 planned updates pending and even at 9 months per update and 12 months for the last update (it would contain the grand finales, with all the variations), it would take around those 10 years.
I agree this game pushes the quality of AVNs up, not by a huge branching (there is barely any), but by the quality of renders, animations, overall story, memorable characters and well placed music.
I don't know the finances behind AVNs, I know which one is raking the millions but I guess it's hard to intentionally make one that's successful, like doing movies or songs, there is a huge uncertainty factor. But at 10 years development for a game and thousands of people able to finance it with 5-20 USD/EUR a month, it starts to make sense to fund a bigger team to accelerate it.
What I liked about Once in a lifetime that I don't like about Eternum is that the MC in Eternum is slowly being turned into a pussy, specially in the last updates, like the girls are the ones running the show and he is just a submissive pet afterthought. I liked the pervert vibes of OIALT much more, where the MC was actually calling the shots in the harem he created. Now it's evident this is no longer the case and the last updates looked borderline femdom to me with the Calypso and Nancy scenes. I hope this improves in 0.9, except for Penny where he is actually dominant, with the others he is like saying I'm sorry and grateful for any of your attention all the time.

The first half of this is kind of foolish but to each their own, everyone has different definitions so whatever. But, I'm sorry, you think Calypso is bordering on femdom? The stuck up tsundere elf princess who is slowly losing the battle with temptation to a lowly human commoner's dick? You really don't see the shifting power balance there?
Yes, with Calypso at least there is a hint of a shift towards their relationship becoming more leveled, but with Nancy it's the opposite, she is increasingly being the one in control and it isn't the only one. My memory is fuzzy now because of these hughnormous development times, but I think I recall the last Nova and Annie scenes where also portrayed as if he is super froggy about them not being into him or something like that, like if he is the one who should bow down and be grateful he got their attention because he lacks any confidence in himself. In OIALT he was much more confident, you can see this in LIs like Rebecca (the teacher) or Carla (the family mother).
Calypso did play a soft dom part in her scene in the bathtub, I wouldn't call her tsundere because she truly believes she is superior to anyone else and she approached the MC from fundamental superiority. I think it's stronger than the tsundere concept, which is more like a popular girl in high school talking to a lesser popular guy or nerd, and not a divinity/god/entitled noble like Calypso is.
I would like to explain myself more, but I know the BS "offtopic" practice of deleting everything that aren't screenshots so it's sadly pointless since all of this will probably be deleted even though it's not offtopic and it's on Eternum topic.

I can kind of understand this, I don't agree but I understand where you're coming from. I'd say she classifies as femdom only if we really stretch the definition to "woman who doesn't immediately roll over and get plowed with the MC whips out his dick." She's assertive but not dominant, confident but not controlling. She knows what she wants and, once she gets over the whole age gap thing, isn't afraid to go for it. And she's a mature woman who uses her experience and wisdom to help guide things in the right direction, but I think that's largely a framing device to avoid the home stretch of the game involving either A) a bunch of awkward, forced dialogue about how all the girls are totally into being a harem, or B) having certain girls just totally unaware it's going on until the epilogue like in OIALT.
This on the other hand... huh? Appreciating what you have and making sure your partner is comfortable is femdom now, apparently? I think most people would be extremely thankful to have one of these girls interested in them, let alone eight. OIALT MC did the same thing, though admittedly usually while ogling some T&A. But associating Orion's relationships with Annie and Nova to femdom is laughable.
Tsundere isn't a matter of status or personal belief, it's an attitude. It's loudly and aggressively insisting that they totally don't care about you and have no interest in you while clearly caring and having interest. Caly may not be completely in tsundere territory yet, depending on preference, but she's getting there. Give it an update or two and I guarantee she'll fit the definition to a T.

Nah, Alex and Nancy has a chance with her. Calypso is quite intrigued with the possibility of Alex being of an elvish descend and likes Nancy as a leader, even calls her "Miss"

speaking of elvish descendants, in the end of curent content, we end up finaly in calypso realm, so im the only one who think alex may be of elvish descent, and the founder and the mc being related somehow to those immortals since they both travel at will between realms?
it will be soon, i'd say 2 month max and we're good, we all know its gonna be awesome.

The Founder being related to the elves would have no bearing on Alex being related to them, because she's not related to the Founder.

While I'm not saying I don't enjoy threesome scenes, I usually prefer romantic, intimite one-on-one scenes over them. E.g. the two scenes with Alex blew me away (literally) whilst that scene in the last update on the beach didn't really do it for me. I'm sure Caribdis won't neglect these kinda scenes over the FFM ones but, just a little worried I guess.

To each their own, I guess. I'd have a hard time saying threesomes aren't passionate and intimate, but it can depend on context - just as sex between only two people can. It's all just preference.

I also wouldn't consider "passionate" or "raw" as synonyms for "intimate." I'd describe Annie's scene in Andromeda as romantic and intimate. I'd probably describe Luna's scenes that way. Nova's scene in 0.7 I'd call at least semi-romantic and passionate. I haven't yet run through the current update yet (I need to hurry up and do it before 0.9 drops), so I can't speak to the scenes there.
But as I understand "romantic" and "intimate," I'd agree those qualities are less likely to be present in a threesome.
Nancy had less femdom vibes early in the game, she went from loving housewive and mother, to matriarch in full control of everything, including sex. In contrast, Carla was very insecure until the end, like a teenager in love.
Also when the MC was nearly dead in Eternum, he openly said he is nothing without his girls, while in OIALT they were more like a support for him not to fall to the dark side, not the ones giving him his powers.
There is femdom as in she is in full control and he is a subordinate, and femdom as in she pegs him and burns his balls with cigarettes and so, I said "borderline femdom" because of course there is more room for femdom, but it's already a sharp contrast with OIALT where he was much more dominant and in control of situations, only Aiko was more dominant but the others were more submissive.
There's no need for forced dialogue, he is a superhero, the Chosen One, the G.O.A.T. , a young god in the making. Women are attracted to much less than that even IRL and when they are attracted to such individuals they don't care about anything else. They might not be superhappy about the harem, catfights and jealousy could be frequent but they would put up with it in exchange for being with the man of the age.
The way it's portrayed in the last updates is closer to femdom than to the opposite, yes. And it's in clear contrast with OIALT, where none of this ever happened.
Thinking "I'm a lucky bastard" once in a while it's alright, but acting and talking like he should be thankful for having any kind of contact with them, every single minute, IS much closer to femdom than to the opposite. HE is the hero, he is on the way to be the next Founder, they are attracted to him because of that. In OIALT he wasn't an insecure pussy full of incel vibes, but in Eternum it looks like he is more insecure by the day, when he should be less so because he is being increasingly successful.
She will blow the MC in 0.9, she already did a magical no contact handjob, so next step is a blowjob.
I'm honestly fine with it. After a year, a couple more weeks hardly makes a difference, and the first release usually has a few bugs that are fixed for the public release anyway.

Sorry for the approaching wall...
First off, while there is a tiny connection to OLIAT in Eternum, I have never once while playing the latter thought to compare the 2 games (MC & Harem Members) as being the same or equal.
Orion was on the verg of death, would have in fact died if he had not been able to subconsciously teleport to Calypso (an ability he did not even know he had) to get saved. I assure you when you come that close to dying you tend to rethink things about your life (or at least most sane people would). Orion realized he had sort of been halfhearted in his pursuit of the girls and upon reflecting on his past actions realizes that he does indeed LOVE each of the girls, which he had not expressed in any form prior really, and that he is IN FACT grateful to have them in his life. (again normal, IMO, for most people)
His life before arriving back home was not that of the "fuckboi" he narrated himself to be on the train. He was more or less unpopular, a loner (with the exception of Chang and Annie) and not used to getting the attention of so many (beautiful) girls, so his thinking he is lucky is more or less an accurate thought, IMO, considering his previous experience. I also do not feel like the girls like him because he is on his way to being the next Founder (especially since he is in fact working to be the exact opposite of the current Founder), the girls are attracted to Orion for many reasons, Annie has been in love with him for 10 years, Nova because of the way he treats her and brought "life" into life. I could go on and on but we seem to be playing 2 totally different games. I mean, for what they are all trying to pull off, the girls all will need to be strong, capable and independent all while being able to function in a team environment and I would hate... hate to see them all become some simple minded sex slaves the moment they are naked with Orion and lose all their personality becoming some timid slave to their apparent master. But hey... that might just be me.
Now Nancy, while being aggressive towards Orion if because she has been single mostly for what... 10-12 years, she broke her walls down and figured she had to be (due to the age gap, I mean who would want an Sexy, beautiful, seemingly ageless old woman like her) and even in the elevator as she tries to take control, Orion takes it back and they split that control. Now, a woman telling her lover what to do during sex is not a bad thing, unless the guy is a control freak who things he is flawless and knows her body better than she does, so I don't see that type of coaching as a negative either.
I have played a game or two with femdom, not my favorite kink for sure, and have not felt that even once playing Eternum. Nor have I seen Orion as a lil bitch boy. He has very little experience, he is young & he has a lot of responsibility. He too thought he was the HERO until he was shot and laid dying, he still harbored those thoughts in the back of his head until Thanatos handed him his ass on a silver platter AGAIN, and maybe I am wrong but I think he will go through another moment of growth while in Calypso's land and maybe learn some real humility. Which might bring more offensive (to some) growth in his relationships with the girls. IMO, this would be a good thing for his character development if we are to believe he is to reign over a happy harem.
Wall is built and done, sorry... just some of the arguments/discussions here sometimes... ya know.
