You'll probably be disappointed then because it is very much looking like it'll contain mystical, fantasy stuff. And it being fantasy doesn't make it a "plot hole". We know magic is real since Once in a Lifetime takes place in the same universe and that had all the shenanigans with Astaroth and shit. Calypso is literally and elf that uses Magic. Nothing sci-fi about her. The "game" only pretends to be so. We know by now that it is an alternate world/realm/whatever, tied to Earth and safely accessed by normal people, somehow, through the implants. The Praetorians are different, able to bypass that safety and kill people IRL IN the game too. It's not really a plot-hole at all. All of it is explained. I'm too lazy to look for the scenes and dialogue right no but explanations are given, somewhat, on what is going on. Not all of it. We still don't have all pieces of the puzzle but Bardot has no real reason to lie to us at that point either. Not about that topic at least. Bamboozling us into thinking "oooh~ it's not a game, it's ghosts and souls" really doesn't push any agenda in his favor since we were probably already working against the Founder anyway. This probably have been discussed over-and-over but there (potential) plot-holes, imo. They say, people who die in Eternum, turn into NPCs. At least some of them. But also, there are people who die in Eternum and turn back as level 1 with no items left. Until now Eternum was believed to be a hyper-reality VR game and people who die in Eternum didn't die in real life. At least we have an example. That simp dude, whose I don't remember the name right now, smashed by an Ogre. Then he returned, but this time got killed by Maximo the GOAT. Then again, he got killed with the first bullet in battlefield. Calypso knows, how many times more he died like a moron.
So, if Eternum is not a game but another realm(s) that people can teleport into with neural implants, how the hell their physical bodies do not get harmed? If not, and that asshole bardot was lying, then how the hell Orion can physically change in real life? I hope the dev won't conclude it to some unscientific astral travel bullshit.
