Assume Caribdis won't be cruel enough to give her a page and still murder her with a stroke of a key. I wouldn't be that confident.

Having no page gives the vibe that she's a lot more expendable compared to the others tho. At least with a page dev is giving the impression that her chances of survival is basically the same as the rest (which means she will at least reach the final chapter before all bets are off).

Maybe the reason why Calypso still has not ascended to full LI status yet is that Cari knows he is going to kill her off for the story? I can't ever see a LI dying, but Calypso? Maybe...

I don't think whatever Cari is scaremongering over is going to be a fatal consequence. I imagine it'll be something dramatic relating to a choice we made before - possibly the thing with the Founder, possibly not - that either is really fucked up in the game or is emotionally harmful outside it. But it's two updates away so it's hard to project accurately where we're gonna be by then. Two updates ago I wouldn't have called Orion getting shot or winding up in the elf kingdom as an upcoming cliffhanger.

I think the only reason Calypso is not on the LI list and heart system is because she is necessary for the plot. Like you can't afford a route drop with her before as Orion and her connection was the reason he teleported to her at start of 0.8, she saved him using portals at end of 0.8 at the expense of her powers because he is now someone dear to her. I assume with next update there will be more romantic progression with her and she gets into the list as doubt there will be much "lose path" options after all these confessions maybe until the ending

It could be something like time/the universe repeating but seeming like it's ending or stepping outside whatever cycle of time or reincarnation/soul-system the universe(s) has so it could end up being like a Noah's ark-esque situation with only a few people(Fingers crossed everyone) left till they find a way to reset or fix everything-and that'd be in line with Cari saying it'd be biblical-plus given Calypso's powers I can see her/her people being part of creating the "raft" the survivors use. Anyway I think something like that or a similarly comparable mythical allegory of apocalypse/etc seems very possible given the story so far

...So are you being purposefully blind or did you just ignore what the dev himself said in the link in my post that he has everything done for the update EXCEPT for the one scene that he and his animator literally need 2-3 weeks to work on which I cited as an example that having an extra pair of hands doesn't mean that dev speed goes faster?

...which he uses as justification for wanting to work on his renders a lot more than usual, hence the current pacing that we have now compared to before, and that he'd rather stick to that instead of going back to that level of quality (even tho the latter is the quicker route).

This is a really interesting thought that never would have occurred to me! It kind of makes sense, too, in terms of the game aspects of the story. I can't imagine anyone would actually enjoy a playthrough with no LIs (actually that's not true; I've seen more than one user on this forum who apparently like to play that way), but having Calypso be "protected" so that she's impossible to alienate is an intriguing take.

On second thought though, I wonder. Because Orion wouldn't have been shot in the first place if he wasn't walking across the shitty part of town to get pizza for his girl, so I dunno. Still, an intriguing thought, and I don't think we can just completely dismiss it!

Careful there... I heard that Calypso is Hilary Clinton's favorite LI. Bad mouth Calypso and you may find yourself waking up one morning only to find you accidently committed suicide in your sleep.

I like this idea of Calypso being different from the other because she is vital to the story. Arguably she can at any point fuck off, but instead decided to stay because "she felt that there was debt that needed to be paid" rather than "going away on her own to fully figuring out everything without the humans around".

From narrative sense, after spending enough time with everyone she began to like them, maybe consider them friends. This may be enough of a reason for her to return from the Elf Realm later.

Her not being included with the other girls makes sense. If she decides to fuck off, or just not spend time with everyone, they can't use her portals, which in turn makes quite a few feats they achieved impossible.

Her being hidden Love Interest makes sense, and her being considered side girl from UI perspective does as well, because not only is she not considered "real person with who Orion can have relationship for big part of the game" but also "compared to the other/real LI she lacks content and sex scenes to be even if narratively she will have important role and be needed for perfect ending"

Now, after Orion get "training in the Elf realm" and "figure out how to use portals properly" she won't be needed as much. I can see her being "alienated depending on how you treated her" or "people not on her path missing scenes with her" because she won't be as vital as before.

Putting aside the overuse of quotations, congratulations, you just described how narratives and love interests work. Characters who grow and change throughout a story and whose ultimate ending depends on the player's choices.

Don't forget Agent 17. The progress is fake, the previews are fake, only the monthly delays are real. An entire year of delays only resulted in less than 10 minutes of gameplay.
