Um, we don't know that - because it's never happened. Nor has it been explained in-game why some people die for real and Jerry gets reborn again and again. Blaming the permadeaths on the Praetorians is an ASSUMPTION...
If Orion brings one of the girls into Eternum and they die, they would die as it's their real body. That's why Orion was so worried about Dalia when they went to the "Valley of the Kings".

It's a pretty good ASSUMPTION. Orion and Annie saw Benjamin get excommunicated, and then he died right after, which Nova later confirms. She also adds that Benjamin's family received $750,000 one day after his death, most likely Ulysses paid for their silence.

Alex also mentions that Ulysses has been covering up mysterious deaths for years

It also makes sense for the story, as it adds real danger inside Eternum by having an enemy with the power to kill them in real life. Otherwise, there would be no danger for the group inside Eternum, only the possibility of losing the Gems of Doom.

Oh, and if we did start taking the girls with us into Eternum through our teleportation power (as I've speculated before will happen because it's now in a way safer than entering Eternum via the implant, since we would act as the exit portal), then it could be that in this moment when one of the girls die, their real body would just die, and they wouldn't turn into an NPC. If that is the case, then maybe instead the girl would get fatally injured, and we would have to quickly get them back to the real world, put their visor on (maybe not their Eternum suit because it's stated at the start that it's technically not necessary but might result in bugs), and then I guess.. kill them in Eternum as a last ditch effort to preserve their life by turning them into an NPC.

And if I had to put money on the girl that would die, it would unfortunately probably be Annie. I think given our history together, it would probably be the punchiest option narratively-speaking, and it would be kind of a cruel twist that the girl who was so addicted to Eternum ends up being the one trapped in it. I'm not sure, though. And it would likely have to come after whatever scene with Luna and Annie that Luna saw so that even Luna would be unsure what will happen. That could tie in nicely with our conversation with Luna where she said she would do necromancy to resurrect us if we died. That after having a threesome together (and everything leading up to it), Annie and Luna grow closer, and then when Annie is fatally wounded, we're freaking out and emotionally a wreck as we said we would be if Luna were to die, but then Luna is the one who comes up and tells us there's a way to save her and refocuses our emotions, and we put Annie into Eternum via the implant and kill her there to make her an NPC, planning to save her eventually, essentially accomplishing necromancy.

But separately from all that, I do really think one of the girls will become an NPC. It would provide a clear emotional hook for us to really want to and need to free the Eternum NPCs. We care already, but it's not our main focus. With one of the girls as an NPC, it becomes the foremost emotional and narrative priority.
Oh and AND if the doors of Acheron/temple of Acheron/the ouroborous doors really do allow us to resurrect people or otherwise give us the ability to manipulate life and death, then that would provide a convenient way for us to live forever along with Calypso, and the rest of our girls too.

I feel like that's probably what the Immortals are all about, too, that they use the power of Anima, which Calypso bears, in order to use this Acheron jazz to live forever somehow. And before, they needed to imprison Anima/descendants of Anima in order to do this, but now with the MC (who might be an Immortal?), Calypso would likely end up herself willing to utilize her power in this way for us and the girls, and probably at least once for all the NPCs in Eternum.

I'm guessing (a bit wildly) that the letter the little girl haned Orion at the heist planning meeting is effectively a reset of some sort...
Oh, interesting... now that you are mentioned it I never actually read that letter. (I usually read the whole script of the games but I purposefully avoid some spoilers like that) Maybe I should go back and read it...

Caly thinks the Immortals are the enemy. She said her being chained up and in that box was their doing...
Yes, I'm not sure how that discounts what I said? They would have captured her and Anima originally in order to utilize their power.

A lot of players in Eternum rely on it for their income, I suspect a lot of players will still keep playing. If it won't be because they financially need to, it'll be because they're too addicted to the game.
Yeah, it is debatable what is considered "a lot" but I suspect we will see the difference and it will be a plot point because the world also knows that there is no "safe/non-combat server" anymore after the Xenomorph invasion.

(God just thinking about it how colorful is the lore of Eternum. Xenomorph meets LotR meets Ready player One meets romcom...)

I like the idea what Calypso proposed that MC will become the king and elevate his harem as queens of the known/human worlds. The girls would be great queens :)

I vote for Nova as my hyperactive Queen! :D
