As of EA build v1.28.1:
Bugs/Issues
- Minor bugs so far, nothing game breaking as of yet. Mostly related to a few instances of early dialogue lines being repeated after sex scenes or at the start of a conversation along with cases where the thicc female models will cause an error message to appear. This can be 'ignored' from the prompt selection at the bottom of the grey screen so nothing game breaking for now. Still worth noting though.
- Not sure if this is a bug or if the event just ends there, but during the bard court event, selecting the top choice that mentions something along the lines of free sex, the bard says another line but nothing happens and the event just ends. Nothing game breaking, but just curious if that's supposed to happen or if a sex scene is supposed to have played there.
- Various little typos. Not a bug, but just another thing to note.
- On the equipment setup screen during quests. I'm not sure if clicking anything does anything as I can't really tell what's equipped or not....
- During battle, stats don't seem to be properly displayed though battles seem to work alright. Examples include the party member's stats being reset to zero on their next turn and/or enemy HP displaying oddly. Again, nothing gamebreaking but quite confusing. Equipment screen confusion and display windows errors aside, the overall premise and loop of the questing is quite nice. Simple but a good start overall.
Story Content
- I liked the Witch's snarky personality quite a bit! Witchy indeed.
- On the topic of the Witch and similarly to the Witch Hunter. I really liked the amount of expanded worldbuilding she(total female/futa run in my playthrough) added. Namely the fact she's the reason why I'm king and how and why that actually happened.... Namely bc she was bored and was kinda just trolling the former King bc he was old and she could. Weirdly appropriate for a 600 year old witch. I can't wait to see what else she adds to the lore and what her relationship is with Lizette since Beatrix(my witch) and Lizette seem to get along just fine despite being a Witch and High Priestess respectively.
- Just cool to see both the advancement of the main story, hints to our next goal and the possibility to learn and use magic... something that is gonna be quite funny for a barbarian like me. All in all, it was good to see two sides of the world like this. A lot of flavor, lore and worldbuilding was packed in along with showing/hinting what our next goal is for this section of the 'mai' quest'.
Game Content
- The Questing system is... quite a nice touch and adds a quite a bit to the game loop. It's simple, but I like it, bugs and kinks aside. Overall, it's a good way to just get some dungeon crawling and extra income in and offers up a third layer/option in your playthrough, especially with the events that can pop up as you explore... like taking out a bear! Good way to make use of stat checks too, since the physical stats, outside of sex and patrols, don't get much play. So, yay! Anything that rewards the grind is good! RESPECT THE GRIND, BUT ALSO REWARD THE GRIND!
- I saw that the gossip and other similar interactions folded into the 'talk' option. Mixes up interactions with NPCs in a more natural way all from one option. That's the sense that I got as I got used to the change, so I can consider this a good thing as it allows for more variety during interactions this way. Streamlined is prolly the word I'm looking for here.
- Speaking of variety, new body types are always a nice thing! Some kinks here and there, but variety is always good. Hopefully, we'll also see some more hair and face types in the near future too.
Conclusion, so far
Overall, and bugs/kinks aside, I was most happy with the lore and system additions! Interactions are always nice, so I'm hoping to see more of that, especially since sandboxes like this are kinda built around interactions. It's a good start and goal to work on improving this build cycle and I can't wait to see how it grows, expands, and gets better integrated into what's already there, from new court events, animations, cloths, dialogues with NPCs, random events, and quests.
Personally, I'm curious to see how the magic will be integrated and what that means for the stats systems in the game to manage that. That and getting Lizette in the party in the future, maybe even with Blanche and/or others would be pretty cool.
Maybe that'd be another way to farm/grind out affection, like +X Love/Lust/Obsession per quest done or something like that.
Well, after all the foundational kinks are worked out first of course.
But yeah, those are what I noticed and along with my overall thoughts on the content itself after a few sessions.
Though, again, this was based on my specific run of the game so far, so other players may have noticed other things I didn't due to those differnences.
Great job and I can't wait to see what the next dish is!
