In the save I provided I could not take the girl back to my apartment and have sex with her there which I could before.

It's because you ran out of aphrodisiacs. You give one to the girl as you take her home for sex and since you don't have any the option wasn't given. This could be improved for sure but this is the reason why you weren't given the option to take her home for sex. I'll leave it up to noobtrain if he wants to make any changes here as I'm not making updates right now.

Hey, yes it makes really a performance difference because of the file-size of jpg to webp. I have an really high end mashine as pc but not all ppl have that and there is the point it makes for them a big difference. I updated my version always automatic of course so for its not a problem to share it instantly because i like the game.

(And one extra thing with Webp files are that you can use them as Image or like a Gif file what i find very convinient)

The Qsp i use i got from another game "Girl Life" forum and its an updated version. I need to find the link again but i play since years with QSP and i had big problems too with old players and most of them have problems with videos and crashes. I play with the player i put in the rar file since a longtime. No crashes or any problems. I always use my own pics and vids and replace. All of them highquality vids so theyre bigger in size and still no issues. (i played almost every QSP game on F95 Zone so i know that it works fine)

Im not a programmer and i have my "own" but of course not "weird/pervert or illegal modded" version of Evil 2 but i will not share it because im not interested in updating etc.

But the normal QSP file isnt a problem for me and since youre stepping down i guess there will be not much updates anymore.

If you of course dont that i share that file/player etc. feel free to say it and i let it be thats not a problem.
I respect the Owners/Programmers choice and its your hard work.

What noobtrain is trying to say is that the JPGs used in the game are between 75KB and 350KB. That's light work for most PCs. You'd only see a performance improvement on an old PC or laptop. Yes, WebP is a better image format overall but it won't make a big difference for most players. I doubt I would even notice it as the game runs smoothly and great for me. It's like picking up an aluminum fork as opposed to a steel fork. Yes, the aluminum fork is lighter but they're still both easy to pick up and few have a problem picking up the steel fork. This is just an analogy and isn't perfect.

I know some players get super excited about new formats and new technologies but they don't always translate into real world performance increases. We've known about WebP for a long time but didn't see the need to switch as JPGs are small and aren't difficult to load. WebP's main advantage is with images on websites. They're smaller so they download and load faster across the Internet. With the images already being installed with the game, you're losing most of the benefits of WebP. They are smaller in size however so that benefit is maintained.

I did a search on Evil 2 and it has 3,237 JPG images coming to a total of 332 MB. So even if WebP reduced the file size to 0, you'd only be reducing the game size by 332 MB which is almost nothing for a 23 GB game.

The videos on the other hand are 10x to 20x the size of the JPG images. So that is where the biggest performance hit is with the game. The game also has a heavy coding back end, especially with the End of Day Earnings Report and starting a New Day. Some older PCs and laptops take a while to finish processing this as there's a lot of code involved.

But saying that noobtrain is wrong and that it will make a big performance difference isn't correct (at least not converting JPGs to WebP). No offense is intended. We are happy that players want to contribute. Hopefully some players will find your work to be helpful!

Hey, sorry when it sounded like he is wrong of course he isnt wrong and yes its more for the older or weak performance pc. That was the sense for the webp convertation. I just mean it a good way for the ppl who didnt know how to do it themself.

It is always a problem with videos and they size. I converted all vids for Evil 2 in webm and reduce the size a lot but theyre completly changed and for my personal reference so i will not post them because that would we a complete change of the game even when vids are normal porn and nothing strange but i would feel not alright with that and it felt disrespect full like the modded Ui from my Evil QSP file etc. against you Dev guys.

And i use the porn for personal taste like im not much into pee or bdsm so i changed that and that is a change for a big game part and that isnt for the public only privat use.

I know nobody is actually working on this game in depth currently. But would it be a massive code change to maybe add something like a business manager to run your businesses? They could sign new contracts in factories increase income from shops etc.

Similar to the whore and slave manager who manages their incentive etc. Could this actually be done?

Business Manager Hire cost £20k daily cost £5k ........... Bonus 15% increase in sales in businesses


Similarly maybe a new gang activity like protection racket.

Just ideas maybe if someone takes the game up they could possibly implement them if able to be done.

I wasn't going to reply to this because it's rude and disrespectful. If you have questions we are happy to help.

Evil 2 is for elite players. This is the core of the problem. Little hand holding is done in this game. There was no OUTSIDE resources when I first played the game. I learned how to play it over time. skybarbie wrote the Beginner's Guide to help players such as yourself. No, it doesn't explain how everything works but if you read and follow the guide, you should be able to figure things out rather quickly. Evil 2 is a terrible game for players who require a step-by-step guide or need everything explained to them. Again, Evil 2 is for elite players. But because you couldn't figure things out, we are 100% at fault and hold all the blame.

You claim you read the Beginner's Guide but didn't follow it. You basically did everything in reverse order. You claim that your first whores worked in the brothel. The brothel is usually the last whore/slave job location as it costs at lot of money to purchase. You purchased product stores and had multiple running before getting your first slave or whore. In the Spoiler section of the Game Overview on the opening post (OP) it says the following:

"When you start the game, your first goals should be earning enough money to purchase a cheap car, a taser/shocker, and the farm. You should develop lots of contacts, friends, and lovers throughout the game and slowly corrupt them."

You didn't do any of that and if you did purchase the farm you didn't use it until much later. You also didn't corrupt girls and turn them into your whores and put them to work until much later.

Another player already mentioned this but the reason Mabuta took all your whores and slave is because he wasn't earning a profit from you. Mabuta only gets money from the illegal whore and slave trade. Your brothel is a legal business which Mabuta doesn't get a cut from. That's why he was pissed. In the Beginner's Guide it says the following:

"Assign your whores and slaves a variety of jobs, don't just focus on one or two or you may end up having trouble paying Mabuta his cut"

I created the guide to help players trigger the 18 unique events and two major stories in the game. This didn't exist before and I created it because a lot of players were getting frustrated.

We've improved and enhanced the basic features of the game but didn't rebuilt it from scratch. Evil 2 isn't for everyone. It's especially troublesome for the new generation of players who are used to playing Ren'Py Visual Novels where they only have to click on the left mouse button or hit the space bar to play it. When I've played games like Skyrim I didn't have everything explained to me and have my hand held the entire time. I figured things out a little bit at time and this game is the same way.

We've added two guides to help players get a better start to the game. You blame us because OUTSIDE resources have to be used to play the game when none existed for me when I first played it. Did I rant and rave and throw a fit? Nope! I decided to become a developer for the game and improve things, fix lots of bugs, and add new features, events, and stories (all for free).

To be fair, when I first played Evil 2, I also did the same thing. I didn't read any guide, I didn't read any spoilers. (I didn't want spoilers to ruin the story) I just played. like how I would play any other game. The natural progression for me was to get a job (make money). Get the business going. then invest in farm/houses. I owned a three business and a factory before I even touched a girl.

Didn't think anything of it since it's a sandbox. I built a business empire. Then some <removed> wanted to cash in on my hard work. Nuh uh, that bitch needs to go. started looking to see if police did anything. nothing. looked into other means. found gang. started stealing and leveling up as a criminal. Made some assassins. The rest is hiStory.

I thought it was decent business sim but crappy porn game because i didn't even find the "Evil" portion (the actual game) until many hours in...

Most of that could have been avoided if there had been an event, like running into a boxer who is a gangster looking to recruit you for a job or something in the story to guide you towards gang activities. Or even an internal monologue of "I should invest in a car and buy a house in a remote area as quickly as possible."

You mention Skyrim does not explain everything. While Skyrim doesn't explain mechanisms, it guides the player from the beginning on where you should go in the story. It tells you to go to Riverwood. you can ignore that and go anywhere, but it does give you direction on where you should go. Evil does none of that in the story. Hence you can spend literal hours building up business empire before ever touching actual game proper which is the whores and the girls. Things could be different with the current version, but that is how it was when I first played Evil 2.

Evil 2 being for "Elite players" is not the problem. there is nothing Elite about 0 in-game guidance or hint of direction. We call that a design flaw. There is a reason why Zelda moved away from 0 direction since Ocarina of time. Before Ocarina, players could get lost for hours in previous games and never find where to go until they looked up a guide or eventually scooby-doo into right direction. It was same with early metroid games, game design and power unlocks were the guide to alert players to backtrack to previously unreachable places. Even the original Dark Souls, which is notorious for not explaining anything and being a game for "Elite players", gave directions to players. Go ring the bells. It never told you where the bells were, but if you played the game, you know you needed to ring two bells.

Don't let the rude guy get to you Dev, but we can all admit this game could use some in-game direction. No need for hand holding and railroading in sandbox game, just a hint. "I'll meet you at Riverwood." would be a good thing for new players.

A mentor like NPC that tells you about how to get bitches to make money for you would be great addition. Bonus point for laughs if its someone like Andrew Tate to talk you into getting your girls to be Video model/hooker to build a media empire.... now that I think about it, this game is basically story of Andrew Tate.... wow... just realized as I'm typing I'm playing as Andrew Tate.... former kickboxer/boxer branching into online porn business that branches into brothel business....

The player mod that Useck introduced does something similar to this. You can ask one of your NPCs to manage your stores. This increases profits based on how many high society contacts you have. It isn't perfect and I don't like the fact that it also affects factories (when it really shouldn't) but this feature was added recently.

One of the pop up messages also informs the player about the two guides in the game and the use of cheats to customize the level of grind they are comfortable with. So there is some help when you start the game. There didn't used to be.

We have had players who tried to fight the game since they didn't want to pay Mabuta. You can also refuse to get the Dragon Stone from Bleak Falls Barrow and avoid all the dragons in the game (and your ability to complete the main quest). But you aren't playing the game as intended. It blows my mind the extent that some players go because they refuse to pay Mabuta.

To be honest, we never anticipated that a player's first whores/slaves would work in the brothel as it's quite expensive to purchase. This is a new one. But to be fair, the player was given two pop-up messages about getting whores and slaves working for you right away.

We are a friendly bunch and help players when they ask questions. But the rude player didn't do any of that or ask any questions. Because he couldn't figure it out personally on his own without any help he was fuming at the mouth and went on an angry rant.

Yes, the game could definitely use some improvements on guiding the player further. That's why I said it's mainly for elite players. Experienced players such as myself and skybarbie figured the game out before there were any guides.

freedom15 - I downloaded the QSP Player you're using and played around with it for a few minutes. This must be an updated version of QQSP because we've tried that player in the past and it always CTD after character creation. This version doesn't do that and it also plays the game's videos just fine and the old version of QQSP wouldn't play those either. So this player may be a possibility in the future. A lot more testing would have to done before one of us endorsed it but the author has clearly fixed some glaring bugs. One nice thing about QQSP is that it will run on other platforms besides Windows (at least it used to). The formatting is a bit off in some areas of the game with the text being on top of the graphic icons. So the game isn't quite formatted correctly to display as intended in QQSP.

How do you assign someone to manage your stores, i have contact, friends, high society people but i do not know how to assign them? I looked in mansion management, i look in secret menu/legal businesses not there so please can someone help how to use this?

Hey nice that you checked it out. I can just reply on my own expierence. I use this player for long hours with qsp games and didnt had any crash or problems in anyway. The formatting etc isnt my area i dont have a lot of clue about that stuff so thats your part . And i found the link again from the forum where i got it.

From Dev notes in OP:

Save Games
You will need to run this console command twice in the 'spectre1viper command injector' to refresh the game code (it is all one long command):

gs'dyn' & gs'dyn2' & gs'dyn3' & gs'dinsex' & gs'dinsex2' & gt'place_main'

Save your game afterwards.

This procedure is only required after updating to a new version of the game. Once you run the command and make a new save game, it is no longer required.

After doing this, you should be able to assign at least every adult family member and sex relation as a store manager. I haven't tried other contacts etc myself yet.

This menu option is available for every NPC that I have a high relationship with. You don't have to start a new game. When you start the game the opening screen should say version 0.75 Patch 1. You also have to have product stores.

Nice, that's fantastic to hear. The problem I had isn't really a problem because I liked the mini business sim it had. the fact that I played many hours without losing interest, without ever finding the main game, speaks volumes in a positive direction. it's great that you guys added some events to guide the players.

In regards to Mabuta, i think I tried so hard not to pay him because the terms were not under my control. after all, I didn't need him nor his girls in my successful legit business empire, then he comes in and demands % cut. for that matter, being involved with gangs and kidnapping girls was all optional, 0 sex related and gang-related income, and the game allowed me to become a millionaire. Which is the hallmark of sandbox games, the freedom of choice and control. did 0 evil thing and owned everything. then realized the entire point of the game is to do evil things....

Reading your reply and seeing the change log, this game has come a long way from two years ago. I'll definitely have to try it out. I'm excited to stumble upon the new content and play it as intended this time instead of backwards. but at the same time, I wonder how far I can get as a legitimate boxer/businessman without ever touching "illegal" stuff... gotta love sandbox and replay ability.

Thanks for pointing out the issue. It was the message that passed through the factory—the effect itself didn’t impact the factory.

You may want to fix this also if you already haven't. You can ask an NPC to be a Store Manager when you don't own any product stores (only own factories).
