Actually, there is an in game option to censor the scat scenes with a light beam. (there is only 2 shot scenes with scat anyway).

I prefer to avoid these scenes at all costs

The good news is that you can choose to avoid scat, as the 2 scenes (which will clearly show as defecation) have other options and it does not prevent you from missing out on any other content.
