They are Holding a Public crowdfunding (patreon) project.
It's their responsibility to report the state of the development (in progress / in hiatus / abandoned/ etc.),
Not Simply disappear after years of deliberately lying about the progress.
You don't need to announce your RL issues, but you need to state when there's a change for your project.
Given it happens way too often to crowdfunding projects, since there's no regulations to hold them accountable, But that doesn't make it OK to do so.

There's some great characters in it and the art is awesome. It manages to be sexy and fun and have its own style without falling into that uncanny valley that a lot of 3D does too.
