From what I've seen so far.... There's usually little squiggly white lines and the images are slightly blurred in those events when MC is dreaming/daydreaming. But yes looks to me like he's adding some elements from his earlier games Permission. And I enjoyed that game quite a bit so I'm looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds

He's not, the dreams have this white blur around the screen. Here he was talking with Emma online, and they didn't hang up, so he saw what happened later.
