Leakers not caring about the artist. I've been watching for a long time, and it surprises me how much leakers never cared of what fake thought, "Oh I'm only sharing the rewards for others to enjoy it" never thinking if their actions are being watched by the artist. Fake and I have been aware of this leaks for a long long time. Man be patient, fake planned to release the rewards slowly over time, care about the artist mental health.

While I understand where Fake is coming from I will play the Devil's Advocate and say that I only found Fake because of the leaks. Which did lead to me supporting him a good couple of times. It's not an expenditure I can rationalize monthly but I do throw in my support when I can. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. The other thing is the leaks can be seen as Fake's art being very popular in demand and being intended for those less fortunate who realistically could never have or never would have subbed on any platform anyway. Just look at how many people show up asking for updates the second something new drops. Those are all genuine fans of what Fake has achieved they just aren't ones in a position to show that financially.
Also I see Fake mention everything would get released eventually and I do acknowledge this has been the case recently but if I recall correctly the old distribution method used to be that after a month or two the works were purged from the paysites and put on gumroad with only the most popular work of each month being sent out to the public which means plenty of works wouldn't have been released for everyone to see. Though, maybe I'm misremebering something, forgive me if that's the case.

Yes the old works were mostly intended to be paywalled, while I do understand that leaks do bring more fans, the people that instanly leak are the problem. Yes there's people demanding for it to be released the day a new reward drops, but if I'm honest. I would prefer if it got leaked a few weeks after it drops.

Yeah, getting it for free is nice, but I don't think it's worth the artists mental health. Like one day he could have enough and quit just because everything gets leaked really fast.
I absolutely agree with the idea of there being a delay on leaks. Trying to maintain that kind of culture is why so many game devs take an active role on this website after all. The internet is gonna internet. You can't stop leaks no matter what. But, if you take charge of the leaks you gain a lot more say in the situation as well as some browny points with the community. Also I wasn't trying to say there are no issues with the leaks at all with my previous message. I was just trying to to spin it in a good light to offer some form of peace of mind to the artist. And I do genuinely believe it's not all black and white.
fr, i think fake is taking it in a completely wrong way, he shouldn't think that just because someone watches or shares leaks they're "disrespecting" him, he should consider that there are also less fortunate people that otherwise wouldn't have been able to pay for support anyways, and that still leaves comments or supports him on his twitter, he should know that, he's peruvian LOL, if reading this, that ain't it, most people that watches leaks are because they are legit unable to pay for the official stuff, if i was able to pay for the stuff i would've been paying for it monthly, bcz his art is so good, since i can't, i support him through his twitter and leave good comments complimenting him, but i think its fine if there's a way for me to watch the patreon stuff bcz again, i can not pay for it, if it wasn't leaked i just wouldn't see it bcz i can't pay for it anyways...
although i do agree them leaks be releasing near instantly, i get why he might be annoyed
I don't think he's taking it the wrong way, he used to ignore it but I guess the pressure of a work he spent almost 10+ hours a day for a week or even more weeks to be leaked the same day it gets published, anyone would be demotivated, like he said he considered quiting. Fakeface is popular enough that the leaks barely benefit him. In fact I think it affects him more. Not economically, fakeface is always in demand for comms and support, but mentally, he is another human just like us after all, he has a life and he's been focusing on drawing for his supporters and not spending enough time for himself and his loved ones. Think how many indie devs/modders that spend thousands of hours for a project, but they quit because of the stress, pressure and harrasment. Although it's not as serious as constant harrasment, the stress can easily build up for both cases and they just quit because it's not worth it anymore.
And I understand not having the money, but other cases include having the money, but they rather have someone pay for it. I feel like most people could buy it, but they rather have it leaked instead. And when leakers provide, it leads to many sites having an artist content mass leaked. If it's with buddies/private then it can be controlled, I don't think there's a problem there. But it's the internet and there will be plenty of cases that people don't give a damn about the artist, and do whatever they want.
Man seriously? Like come on, It's like you chose to ignore that this is the reason why the artist has been stressed out.
