I've been recently checking the progress of the game through Kemono Party + the official x channel because that also helps with getting where things are at. I won't make any excuses + defenses because any form of Denuvo implementation is pussy behavior to me and MTX in a game you need to pay up front for to play is scumbag behavior.
However it's interesting how they're making a single player version of Harem Mode. After all these years, what made them have the trace of self-awareness to realize that nobody was asking for a bootleg version of VR Chat / Second Life? The choice didn't cause me to go into some retarded tantrum about imaginary alphabet people or some other cringe bullshit, but it was a baffling choice that was clearly only done to have an excuse for adding microtransactions into what is still just a gallery mode.
As for thing it seems that the game has doubled the roster of waifus since the last version we had before the previous cracker sold their soul and everyone else gave up, as well as a bunch of new sex animations to go with them. How good those animations are currently, I don't know, as I don't have access to the paid game at the moment.
As it stands, I still don't think it's worth $30+ for the game to harass me into paying extra to skip a dreadful grind, but hey, people whale in porn gachas with far less accessible porn content, so I know for a fact I could be doing worse with my money, especially as more gets added. (Still waiting for the Futa content they kept teasing at being a thing for awhile, for example.)

It's still about on the posts - a while back though. I had it saved but I can't find it anymore. The guy had a Jack Nicholson profile picture and I've since forgotten his name - I will go back through and link to him again.
As for the sounds however, you're really not missing much - just fist a water melon, record it and loop and you've pretty much got the audio the game has.

I hope this game falls into the abyss some day and the devs right along with it.
Silly question: if I download this version, does it include patch 0.8.57 or do those changes not apply to this version?

Which version do you mean? If you pay 35+ through Patreon you will get the link to the latest version, 0.8.57 as of now.
I think I did not make myself clear, I mean if the link that is here is also updated as it is updated on patreon

If it was possible to update the version on here to the latest one, it would have happened already.

It will only be updated on here with an offline (cracked) version. As long as Denovo is still attached and with it also being server-sided, no more updates here.
Patreon is your only option for the foreseeable future.

game has been on my wish list for over 2 years and still there has not been any actual development progress. i am hoping the developers choose to release this game sometime in the near future.

That game description is massively out of date, I don't think Helius is even attempting to pull anything remotely akin to that off now. So far I believe the proposed genres he's burned through have been: puzzler (pre-Patreon), management sim, roguelike, xcom clone, deckbuilder and the latest is some kind of async multiplayer... thing.
Realistically it's a sex sim with loot boxes and it's likely to remain as such indefinitely.

Nope, will not happen.
Basically, due to failure to properly staff Helius is going at a snails pace and to cope with the situation he has done multiple polls on the subject and every single time focusing on the sex sim aspect and completely pausing other elements to stop slowing it even further has always been the poll results by the community.
Realistically, he just wants to milk it as hard as fucking possible like MeshedVR does with Virt-a-mate 2. What it is is basically what you can expect. As for the person wanting it to release one day, this is the release state contrary to how he labels it. The only changes are largely just new characters/poses over time. He may update something every now and then but I'm not exactly sure what else you might be expecting, though I'd bet money on it that whatever those expectations are will not manifest. Thus you either like the current type of content enough to enjoy it or move on.
The dude is so desperate to milk the game he even held petite women hostage, and I don't mean Galatea. He keeps pushing back all petite women no matter how tall they're made and even increased the breast size of Alet just so he can keep baiting people to pay as he promises and then delays a new petite girl release because he constantly sees everyone begging on patreon comments, discord, and the polls for one so he holds it over them like a carrot.
