i know that there are 76,000 patrons on Patreon at present. according to the set threshold of 35 US dollars, the clear income has exceeded 2 million US dollars. so if you want to stop the fraud, the best way is to write to Gabe. this game uses steam to defraud sponsors and make profits. this game has been established for 11 years since 2014. In addition to Blizzard, is there anyone else who has developed it for such a long time?
Anyway I can't figure out what game needs 76,000 people to test it.

I’ve spent over $300, including $295 for the first month and $12 each month after. It’s a bit pricey for an unfinished game, but for a gacha game, it’s understandable. I don’t think spreading bad rumors about this game leads to anything positive for you or others. Initially, those kinds of comments made me hesitate to buy it early, but in the end, I found those warnings meaningless. You don’t need to spend a ton—if you’re only interested in a few characters, just go for the minimum tier. I like collecting all the content, so I’ve spent more.

I don’t see any reason to stop developing this game. Many call it a scam, etc., but have they actually spent money on it? A lot of people aren’t willing to pay for any content and just wait for the game to release, hoping someone will crack it. For $35, you can experience the game with a few girls and tons of high-quality images and animations. Many creators on Patreon sell their digital content for similar prices, often tens of dollars per month—I know artists and video creators who charge monthly for paid content at that rate. This game offers much higher quality and interactivity.

In my opinion, spending over $300 on an unfinished game may not be the wisest choice, but ultimately, it's your decision.

Many call it a scam, etc., but have they actually spent money on it?
Yes.

A lot of people aren’t willing to pay for any content and just wait for the game to release, hoping someone will crack it.
Additionally, many people aren't willing to pay for unfinished games, but I suppose their concerns don't matter to you.

For $35, you can experience the game with a few girls and tons of high-quality images and animations.
For the price of $0, you can experience the same "game" with every character and enjoy the same high-quality images and animations simply by watching videos on platforms like Pornhub or any other similar site.

Many creators on Patreon sell their digital content for similar prices... This game offers much higher quality and interactivity.
The reasoning of "it’s okay if others are doing it too" doesn’t hold much weight for many people, myself included. Furthermore, the "game" offers very little interactivity. The only things you can do are change outfits, select pre-made animations, and watch them. In essence, this is no different from watching adult content, except you take on the role of the cameraman, as you control the viewing angle while observing the animation.

I appreciate your perspective and agree that spending $300 on an unfinished game isn’t for everyone—it’s a personal choice for me as a collector. My main point is that the game offers solid value, even at the $35 tier, with high-quality animations, character designs, and some interactivity that you can’t get from free videos on sites like Pornhub. Those lack the customization, gacha mechanics, and unique aesthetic that Operation Lovecraft provides.

I hear you on the risks of unfinished games, and it’s fair to be cautious. But I’ve found the current content delivers enough to justify the cost for me, unlike some “scam” claims that don’t specify what’s missing. My Patreon comparison wasn’t to say “others do it, so it’s okay” but to show that premium digital content often costs $10–$30 monthly, and this game’s quality and interactivity hold up well in that range.

On interactivity, I agree it’s not a full-on RPG, but selecting outfits, animations, and angles feels more engaging than passive video-watching. If you’ve spent money and feel let down, could you share what didn’t meet your expectations? That’d help me understand your view better. I just think spreading vague negativity doesn’t do much good when the game offers a lot for those who give it a shot.

I'm not going to repeat everything again—it would be a huge waste of my time. But hey, this thread is over 800 pages long. If you really want to understand why so many people consider this "game" a scam, you might want to look through some of the earlier replies. This topic has already been discussed countless times.

Okay I really tried to refrain but honestly you're making me want to curse you all the way to hell, but I won't in the name of being civil.

How the hell can you say that it's "understandable" to spend more on this game, just because it's a gatcha?
By that logic somebody raping someone else is "understandable", because after all, that person was a rapist since before that.
What in the hell is happening in your head my man / woman?
Also, those are not rumors for the most part, and when / if they are, it's because the game is a fucking gatcha and there's 0 information on in-game prices online.
just go for the minimum tier
$35 is already ridiculous for a gatcha game where you don't even get everything unlocked.
Furthermore, I wanted to check what I actually get for that 280 NEP you get for pledging $35 once, but...you can't check.
There's no info that I am aware of that describes what you can actually buy with those 280 NEP, because just the same way you can't expect a rapist to not look at your ass, you can't expect a gatcha game and their dev to be upfront with you.
Where the hell do I check? Or am I supposed to spend a week's worth of food for 1 person to find out first?
$35 is the price of a full indie game if not more. It's the price of old games that can get you countless hours of pure fun. It's the price I pay for my yearly car road safety inspection for god's sake.
This is not $35 worthy. Not in the damn slightest, even for a gatcha game, the rapist of the videogame industry.
Many call it a scam, etc., but have they actually spent money on it?
I'm so tired of this undercooked argument.
I don't have to spend money on something to have a damn reason to dislike it.
Get this logic bomb: I didn't spend money on it BECAUSE I dislike it. How on earth is that not obvious?
I've spent money on countless normal games, and on NSFW games from Octopussy and Future Fragments, BECAUSE I liked them. I don't spend money on things BEFORE deciding whether I like the damn thing, because as opposed to you, I can't afford to yeet money across the room every time I get a boner. I - WE - don't have the luxury to FIRST spend, THEN decide whether the spending was worth it. Comprende?
I know artists and video creators who charge monthly for paid content at that rate. This game offers much higher quality and interactivity.
This "game" also offers incredibly high system requirements, lower accessibility due to loading times, network requirements, and overall format.
It's a 3d animation viewer with a pause an play button with different outfits, instead of a 2d video. That's it. That's where the benefits end.
But this whole "oh it's fine if he rapes me because I've been raped before" kind of mentality is ridiculous. It's what makes scammers rich and honest hard working people poor, like those that put their heart and soul into an indie game then charge $10 per copy.
My Patreon comparison wasn’t to say “others do it, so it’s okay” but to show that premium digital content often costs $10–$30 monthly, and this game’s quality and interactivity hold up well in that range.
That's, quite literally, the same exact thing phrased differently.

It's fine if you're willing to shell out so much money for a project that will only continue to take money for you, but you have no goddamn right to tell us that we have no right to criticize this gatcha wallet-rapist of a project.

Keep in mind that a lot of us paid for this game before it was a F2P, and we do not share your views on it being acceptable to increase the cost of content just because the monetisation model changed. Especially not when this is done in the absence of actually delivering the product originally promised.

As for that last section I feel this is an understatement. It was never billed as an RPG, although it has gone through a dizzying array of semi-coherent genres, but currently it lacks any gameplay systems. Every time I have logged in for years it has been the same - walk around, play animations and they've now tacked on marketplace assets you can apply to your character*. The only gameplay(ish) element is some whackamamy daily FOMO quests that involve playing x animation y times.

*it's worth noting in regard to the costumes that they also "gave" costumes and accessories as rewards to subscribers for years - none of which have actually been delivered and must now be paid for.

If you think of every new character and outfit as DLC, you'll realize that the game is already complete and you now need to pay for the DLC. So what's the reason for closed testing?

Starcitizien has made half a billion dollars and counting. There are no consequences for this sort of thing sadly.

Someone in this thread has written to Steam last year. Nothing came of it, it is understandable as this game has more than 1 million wishlists on steam already and it's too big a potential cash cow for steam to kick them away.

I know this game has a lot of haters in this thread for adding Denuvo but honestly I can't see any reason this project will fail from a commercial perspective. They are doing pretty well on Patreon and is one of the top creators, they can survive indefinitely with that income alone.

No, not for this. If you don't understand, why reasonable people hate this "game", scam, actually, read what HardcoreCuddler wrote in his post in big white letters.
Let's be honest: if it is really a scam they won't be having so many recurring patreon subscribers from the first place. They basically have zero marketing and nobody will stick around and give them money if it is really a scam.

Well of course you can call those backers whatever you like for not being able to tell it is a scam but you know every time i checked this thread there're the same handful of haters popping up in every page calling this a scam and hoping someone can crack it (there's some irony in this lulz) while different new folks coming out to defend it. Not gonna judge anything but this is really interesting.

1."having so many recurring patreon subscribers" - you, and nobody in the world knows, how many subscribers are recurring , if there are any. And how many people just forgot to cancel subscription.
It's a matter of fact, the number of subscribers is declining - thet had about 30k subs, now is around 16k. more and more people are coming to sense.
Last year, all, I repeat, all their moderators and admins left, because they don't want to take part in this scam and justify it.
2. Lie. They have good marketing at Steam, and Steam lets them lie about "shooter with porn game" and to sell keys for non-existing game, which completely contradicts their declared policy. My guess, Steam has their cut.

A few posts above there is example of another grand-scam, Star Citizen.
Half-billion dollars scam. Sadly, this world is full of non-intelligent people with money, who want just to loose them.

Attracting nearly 20k new paying customers every month without promotions, advertisements and paid clicks is even more incredible, if you have worked for any video game projects you would understand how much what number means.
