Someone in this thread has written to Steam last year. Nothing came of it, it is understandable as this game has more than 1 million wishlists on steam already and it's too big a potential cash cow for steam to kick them away.

I know this game has a lot of haters in this thread for adding Denuvo but honestly I can't see any reason this project will fail from a commercial perspective. They are doing pretty well on Patreon and is one of the top creators, they can survive indefinitely with that income alone.
hey bro, sort out the time and look at the timeline of each update and the content, including the developer's previous promises. The closed beta game usually has some paid content, which is usually the last beta version and will be released soon, but this game is obviously not. So I said earlier that this game is actually completed, and the current updates are all paid content and the author has no regrets. In addition, wishlists don't mean anything. I also have a lot of wishlists on Steam, but I usually don't pay attention to them. To be precise, most users' wishlists are invalid.

from a business perspective, you can earn more money by officially launching the game. The problem is that after so many years of closed testing, the game framework has been completed for so long, why hasn't the developer launched the game yet? This is the crux of the problem. So is it possible that once the game is officially launched, the income will not be as stable as on Patreon? What are the factors for unstable income? What causes it? In view of the poor experience of the game and the problems of the developer, I believe that most people will have their own judgment.

Look, I'm pretty certain launching on Steam will boost the dev's income 10 fold if not more with Steam's IAP system. Patreon's payment processing is monstrous, the idea of linking one's Patreon account in the game is unintuitive and that is enough to thwart a big chuck of impulse customers, not to mention that Patreon is blocked in a lot of countries.

It makes absolutely no sense that adding an extra distribution platform is detrimental to the income.

I don't care if you use wishlist or not because that is not the point, I was saying that at this very moment this game has even more wishlist than Stellar Blade, the fact alone has some weight to it.

Yup she was supposed to be loli but you know Steam right? Even they don't have that power to defy steam.
According to Project Helius:

I will never understand this. The game isnt even really on steam. THey could keep the demo there and release independetly because they use platform anyways... why even bother with steam rules if the game is never gonna "release"

Well if not Steam then Patreon might ban them for underage looking characters but I guess they won't since the game generates so much for them. After all the game has bestiality scenes even if the hound is some Lovecraftian creature.

Steam has inconsistent rule enforcement, there are far more offending games. I doubt she was changed because of steam.
That's the reason given by Helius in the past and for once I believe him. Keep in mind that said enforcement probably gets waaaay more consistent when the developer explicitly describes such characters as "loli" in official discords.

The Patreon account also got nuked a little while ago for the same reason, and the resolution was to take down some of the Galatea concept art iirc? Maybe someone can find the post but either way I doubt it's just Steam either.

if it is really a scam they won't be having so many recurring patreon subscribers from the first place
1747229120266.png
Except most are not recurring. Only 21% of the total ever subscribers are still pledging. Most either got the game and disappeared from patreon or they never even donated enough to get the game (unlikely I'd say).
Also idk why some of you can't tell what is the CURRENT sub count and the TOTAL count including those that are not currently subbed anymore...
They basically have zero marketing
Wtf do you mean? It's pretty much the most heavily marketed and covered porn game in the entire world besides a few others...
there're the same handful of haters popping up
Yea most people just never buy it and move on to either ignore it or play it cracked as opposed to us pretentious cunts lol. That's not unusual or indicative that the game is indeed good. That 3.8 star review score however, is very indicative of how good it is, and generally F95 reviews are heavily positively biased from what I've seen around here. There are bloody html "games" with much better scores lol.
you, and nobody in the world knows, how many subscribers are recurring
I guess we don't know the exact payment schedule and such but we do, in fact, know, assuming those "paid members" above are the people that are currently subscribed. Which I think is the case.
Lie. They have good marketing at Steam, and Steam lets them lie about "shooter with porn game" and to sell keys for non-existing game, which completely contradicts their declared policy. My guess, Steam has their cut.
Exactly. They market the game as something much more than it is and people have no damn way to check besides checking F95 or similar. The details are all hidden behind paywalls otherwise, from prices to current game mechanics. Even the system requirements on steam are wrong. The minimum spec is a poor little 1060 which will not even be able to play the gallery, and the RECOMMENDED is a 2070, which has a measly 8GB of VRAM by the way.
Attracting nearly 20k new paying customers every month
Are you seriously delusional? The total count should be in the 500k subscriber count by this point if that were the case...

Wishlists are a massive way to boost visibility on steam.
Can you stop spewing misinformation that you made up for 1 second dude? Do you even know how to search information online?
This chick was supposed to be a loli right? Marie Rose looks younger than her...
Still looks pretty damn good to me, not bad

New

Heya! With the release of the VR version and Research Pass: Talon, the development team has resumed its original development schedule and begun working on new investigators. Based on the results of the previous polls, Galatea, , , and will be introduced in sequence.
We are aware that there are still issues need addressing in the current build, such as clipping issues with new costumes added in 0.8.6. We will keep up with the maintenance and debug work in upcoming patches.
Starting this month monthly patron polls will resume. The popularity of implemented investigators will determine the focus of additional sex scenes with existing characters. Meanwhile, three new investigator spotlights will be available and added to the poll so the community may decide the final member of the Year 3 Pass.

Is she really coming to the game? The comments on the patreon post are quite mixed.
I am the one who posted it here after all.

Pretty certain isn't a guarantee and with the current state of the game they can guarantee a pretty beefy income from Patreon subs while essentially blocking Steam reviews while taking advantage of all the benefits of being hosted on Steam.

oh,bro. As mentioned before, the number of wishlists on Steam is 1 million. The popularity and discussion of this game seems to be different from what I understand. Wishlists can be understood as weighted, but is this effective?who know

Wishlists aren't everything to me.
