I think you missed the part where I said, he did it as a precaution for laws in his country, so maintaining two versions of the same game would not only be a lot of wasted time, but would still be an issue for the reason above keeping the old one going, which was the point of the remake.
You forgot the part about it being "optional", not everyone is a purist and are ok with playing games with optional content.besides abandoned, both his games were ntr.

I didn't miss anything. Local law is simply one of the obstacles that can be easily overcome if someone wants to.
I don't know the law in Australia exactly, so I can't say exactly what solution a developer should look for.
For example, if in Australia there is a ban on making "loli" content public, the developer can ask someone from his community on Discord to share this patch instead.
If the law prohibits the creation of petit characters, the developer can simply start working in the Cloud to which he connects via VPN, or simply ask someone to render for him.
The law does not apply retroactively, but this post shared by the developer in which he compares old and new models, where these models are naked, was definitely made public after the new law was established in Australia (because it was a reaction to this law), so practically speaking, this post is already breaking the law.

I just found this game and, after reading through the thread a little, gave it a try.
All controversy about certain contents aside, the storytelling at the very beginning left me wondering what to expect narrativly in the future.
So the father has PTSD and was deemed unfit to get even partial custody.
Now, without mentioning why this changed, he can just grab them from school to stay with him.
I know, porn logic and stuff, but I would have expected to get some explanation, or some supervision, at least at the very beginning.
So now, that the MC can just pick them up, it seems no one talked with him about this in any capacity.
He's just running wild on the school grounds aiming to find the younger one somewhere, telling the first girl he's asking for directions he can't tell her more than the hair color because he doesn't know what she looks like.
So this is the situation as it is presented: There is this veteran sharpshooter (whose job likely entailed getting a lot of info about people he wanted to 'find'), who was forbidden from having any contact with his daughters, who can now take them to his home unexplained and unsupervised. He neither organized/was told where to pick them up, nor did he ask or was told, how to identify them.
And the solution is not to just wait outside for them to come out, but to go in and just randomly search the place for someone he can neither describe nor find.
Is that how it continues?

Well, he has stayed in contact with his friend (can't remember his name off the top of my head) so probably knows which school they go to from him, at least that would be my guess.

My guess they want money, but keep losing people, cause no one who would play the non-NTR wanna pay for it, since most won't even play it.
And Pro-NTR probably don't wanna pay for it, because of all the effort taken by the non-NTR content.
It's the worst of both worlds

Esteria will be coming back at some point (from what has been said), he has been working on some things in the background for it, but probably won't be until after this game is completed, and Innocent Play, he really didn't like the way it came out.besides abandoned, both his games were ntr.

Also, the NTR is optional, as has always been the case in their games.
FF "optional" NTR, when its mostly NTR content, you're better off not bothering with this one if you're not into it. And they were supposed to focus on a non-NTR route after episode 7 but suddenly, the dev decided to revise everything for a wider audience (which seems counterproductive when NTR, I'm assuming, is also a niche genre).

Ye I was wondering about that, as the end of Episode 6 part 2 of original, Lily can end up with Mateo, while the rest go on that trip. Meaning the people who pick that path wont see Lily content until they fully done with the trip... So all the NTR people would never see Lily for a very long time... Which means from Episode 7 onwards will be interesting to see how the Dev does the updates so both paths are fully playable. Will there be one update of the trip with Lily then next without and so on???
Guess now they remaking it they can stall for time to work out how they will make future updates after Episode 7...
As far as lewd progress, sure, the NTR path has more in that respect as far as family members (primarily Lily), but there is quite a bit on the non-NTR path as well (not family members), and much more progress will happen with the family once they go on the trip, and with Angel.
As stated before (multiple times) the remake had nothing to do with a wider audience, and more to do with possible risks with local laws given the characters in the original.
When the trip is being worked on, the NTR path will not have any more progress until the trip is over, or at least for several updates.
If Lily decides to stay with Mateo, they don't go on the trip, it will continue on from home instead (after the trip).
But, the trip episodes will still get made and the NTR path will continue again later, episode 7 onwards will be focused on the trip with the daughters and Angel.

Thats the problem, the Models are the same! He just made them giants which makes them look like they have giantism. The youngest daughter still looks like she is 8 but she is almost as big as the Dad. It would have been better if the Daughters were replaced with 35 year old models.

But either it is OK for him to be there and to pick up his daughter - then why was no meeting point arranged and why didn't he get pointers of whom to look out for?
Or, he shouldn't be there to pick her up - but why would he do that, and do it now?
From how the story is set up, I am expecting his constraints to not see his daughters were lowered in a way he is allowed to be around them alone.
But this is neither explained nor incorporated in a way that there is for example someone from the court/social services around for a first meeting.
But even if we assume that it is just not shown, and he is legally allowed to meet his daughters again and get them to his place - he shouldn't/wouldn't do that without their mother (and most likely them?) knowing unless he wants her to get that right revoked because she has no idea where they are.
And if someone knows that they won't be home with their mother but stay with their father for an undefined period of time - wouldn't they want to make sure, that they actually meet each other by providing basic info like where and whom to meet?
Even if neither their mother, the court, nor anyone else cares to make this happen - he is a marksman, he is used to identifying his target and getting information about them - shouldn't he have tried to know when she leaves the school, what way she would take, how she looks like so he doesn't miss her?
Even in this less-than-likely scenario, he should never just run onto the school grounds expecting to find her by describing her as having hair on her head ...
This just baffles me and throws me right out of the story. If this was the way the storytelling continued, I think it might be better for me to drop it, just wanted to make sure, so I don't drop it while it gets way better after the initial setup.

Mateo path was a dead end. It would not receive any update for a while and would work as a "What If?" path.

Not a dead end, it will just continue on later.
If the dev continues the NTR content and the family path is delayed even more, people get mad.
If the dev works on the family path (non-NTR) and works on more NTR content later, people get mad.
It's a catch 22 situation, no matter what they do someone gets mad.
Currently there is more progress on the NTR path as far as lewd content with Mateo, and very little on the Family path, he's just trying to get the Family path progress caught up to the other path.
