How do we really know thats he died, how do we know if he just left one day and didn't come back, what if he remarried, and sends bobby a letter saying to become the man of the house, because when I played the game it never talked about the dad at all, so do we really want to go forward with that analogy of the game, or can we make a better one

One of the ideas we're playing around with on the remake discord is that Bobby's father died recently in a car accident, but he left the family years earlier, walking out on Anna and the kids. This trauma caused Anna to become a workaholic/alcoholic, pushed Lucy to stress herself out for school in a program she's barely keeping up with, Liza and Jenny to crave attention and affection however they can get it, and for Bobby to be a corrupt little shit. He was young enough when his dad left that he still viewed him as a good guy and blamed the girls for his leaving. It's not until later on in the story that we find out that Rob (Robert Jr., Bobby is Robert III), was a complete shitbag of a human being. This also opens up the possibility of other characters to screw with too, like Rob's new family.

Keep in mind every time someone suggests "hey, what about adding this new thing to the game", you're probably talking about hundreds of additional renders, multiple lines of renpy code and lines of dialogue, plus trying to figure out where to slot it in. So I think we(well, the people working on the redo/remake) are going to zero in on the essentials first before figuring out what might make sense to add.
