RPGM - Abandoned - Farmer's Dreams [R22 Gold] [MuseX]

Honestly, I really liked the story so far as of this version, not only was it engaging and immersive, but it was deep and well thought. However, as of the focus of the game, I must say that this ain't a porn game whatsoever.

I spent 7 hours straight on my first playthrough, and the only thing I got was a measly blowjob scene, which in my opinion was not worth the time spent, and that is taking into account that I used RPGSaveedit, which eliminated the grinding altogether (which I noticed was hella time consuming due to the really high objectives set in the game for the quests to be completed).

I also felt kinda disappointed as the choices I made throughout the game didn't impact the story in a relevant way, which made me think of this game as a pure-reading visual novel.

Considering that this game has been out for more than 3 years, I must state that the content is short-handed, there are far newer games with way more content than this game, and although the renders are super high quality, those games I mentioned before do not fall behind by much.

As of all stated, that's why even though this game has a very good story, the little content, the long time invested, and the little impact of the decisions, make me consider this game one of the biggest letdowns in my gaming experience thus far (which dates way back to my teens). Because of this, I don't really recommend anyone to play this, as you will only be wasting your time as I did.

This game is absolutely beautiful no doubt about it, the scenes are as amazing as in the screenshots. the story is on the simple side so far but it hints in many interesting ideas, we shall see in the future!!

(Its an interesting game, i understand most find the grind too heavy, i have used cheats because I am interested only in the story and the naughty scenes. If the Dev made a VN with pictures on this level of quality and dropped the whole gameplay loop for some deeper story, that would be truly amazing.)

PS. Thank God all ntr is avoidable because i want none of that.

PROS
STORY: a pretty well executed hero's journey, with enough of a spin to avoid any deja vu feeling. Side stories and plot lines are very well put together, without stumbling or entangling one another.
CHARACTERS: protagonist, side characters and, of course, the girls have each a unique personality, well defined by their actions, not endless exposition.
RENDERS: the 3DCG is one of the best around and the character's proportions, although generous, remain outside of the surrealism of some other games.

CONS
GAMEPLAY1: player's actions and stats are disconnected. Farming, fishing , socializing, etc. don't raise their respective skills in any meaningful way, suppressing any sense of reward and turning tasks into chores.
GAMEPLAY2: resources are required in large quantities and gathered at small ones, making the game outstandingly grind.
GAMEPLAY3: actions must be repeated ad nauseum, but quickly consume stamina and/or can be done only once a day, making in-game time seem simultaneously too long and too short.
GAMEPLAY4: many meaningful rewards come semi-independently of the player's actions (ex: a random loot box gives more money than could be maid in a month in-game), therefore there is a feeling that the player is being driven by the story, instead of the other way around.
BUGS!: the game often crashes, but not in specific parts, therefore, game progression is not blocked. An annoyance that can be overcome by regularly saving.

VEREDICT
A great story, visually and narratively well told, is ridden beneath a flawed game design. Such flaws could be overcome, since they're mostly related to quantities (too much resources required, too little skill progression, etc.) instead of core mechanics; it is, however, unlikely this would happen considering the advanced development and the fact that most people (wisely) don't listen to what I say.

I recommend Love Season, VN version of this game, which preserves its qualities and avoids its flaws. It doesn't have Heather (yet?), but it has Nova, which seems a fair trade.

Great graphics, but the game is far from linear. There are dozens of routes to follow to get all the scenes. The game is also very grindy and very few things happen to keep you interested. The farming thing looks to be something important, but sincerely, this isn't a Harvest Moon or a Stardew Valley and gets boring pretty quickly. The h-scenes have some great graphics but are too short, especially considering they aren't repeatable. As someone said before me, this isn't a harem game and to see everything you need to do multiple playthroughs.

The game is boring and doesn't have much sex during your playthrough. If the dev fixes those I will change the score to 5/5, but it doesn't seem to be the direction he is going. Sometimes, adding replayability doesn't make the game good. But who knows, the game still looks really alpha, he might try to change the format for something that allows you to have sex with most characters during your playthrough.

A good game but not a harem game !!
There are still many bugs in the game.
A bad point is that if you want to see every scene, you have to use cheats. If not you have to choose 1 of the girls . ( Evelyn or Laura, Nina or Laura, Amanda or Laura,...)

the other routes, say sophie, didn't know that route existed, which was probably the point. had to go looking for a walkthrough.

the blue flower part is glitched in the sense that you can talk to red BEFORE you go talk to Roxie with the Elder and Mia

the gameplay is fine but it's riddled with bugs, and you get forced into straightforward storylining, removing options. Has a lot of potential in the future but right now is not a good game.
The sex scenes are okay/good but few and far between, you can't save while holding an item, and item usage is generally kinda buggy as well as finishing quests.
Once all bugs are gone, savefiles don't get corrupted by in game interaction, and the inventory management is more streamlined this could be a 5 star game in my book.

The game heavily leans toward fetishes. But it falls fine on my range, not the top but within acceptable range. This game is more fun than I previously thought when I downloaded it and require a lot less grinding if you are experienced in RPG game. I'm not used to words so I'll just leave my mark for gameplay at 8.
If I had to point out a downside of this game, it is the lack of guidance early in the game. This is a porn game but there is absolutely no hint on how to get laid (the hooker doesn't count). The earliest girl to lay eyes on is actually almost the last one to be banged. Which makes it even more confusing running around finding ways to woo her.

The renders are insanely beautiful and unique
but the game mechanics are horribly unplayable and full of bugs, can't even get to finish the story-line of a one character

I get it if you put 4 times in a day like (morning, afternoon , evening, midnight) but to put a clock that running all the time, with all due respect this is stupid (((((( the reason why the game is bugged is because of the time mechanic))))))

This review is based on version 11.5.

This is a game I've been following for some time, despite many flaws. That's because it has a lot of potential. The renders are pretty good, as is the character design (why is it so rare for women to have real proportions in these games?), the writing is great and it's one of the few games that are actually games, and kinda fun to boot. All other games that try to focus on the game aspect just end up grindy and forced and take away from the enjoyment.

Now all that said, I cannot in good conscience give it more than 3 stars, and all of its issues are technical. The game is one of the most buggy games I've played, and that's saying something. There are many crippling bugs (which occasionally force you to forego your entire save). Any other game I encountered that was anywhere near this buggy I'd give 1 star and move on, but the potential in here is what keeps me interested.

I really hope the dev stops developing content and instead focuses solely on fixing bugs for a while. And if that happens I'll be happy to revise this rating, because the game deserves a 5 for its content alone.

That said, the author mentioned he is working on a Ren'Py version, which is all kinds of awesome. Still a bit of a shame, because, as I said, the game actually is fun, when it works. But the content alone is worth having a VN type version, so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

What an absolute mess of a game. Half the triggers are fucked and the timing of said triggers is UNFORGIVING like no other game. If you want your game to have unforgiving mechanics make sure there are no major bugs that fuck said mechanics. Not to mention no Walkthrough update since a year ago. They are much more concerned with their new project than with this one. A shame because the renders are top tier.

Art is amazing but the thing is many people won't ever see it. The Time mechanic is so damn precise that a normal player will never see 90% of the content. I myself played for about 4 hours and only saw 2 scenes. For a porn game that is extremely poor since many people will give up within the first hour. While the gameplay is fun and detailed, the game cannot survive on that alone.

The game is riddled with bugs, no real hints on what to do, and the fact that even following the current "guide" will just make you frustrated because nothing ever triggers. The Dev needs to make the Timer less strict and actually tell you when things are going to trigger. Games in the same vein like Animal Crossing or Rune Factory will always tell you what time things will trigger because it needs to. The dev cannot assume players will use their "Sense of adventure" to find things.

A porn game that hides 90% of the porn behind bad mechanics is not how people want to spend an evening.

This game is pure bug's disgust even to play this.
When I enter the entrance of the passage to go to the Capital I talk to Trevor and he says that the bridge is broken, when I try to return, it is impossible not to return at all if not save before this entrance the game gets deadly misery bug.
There's a damn cat behind my house at 3 PM. I'm going to go back to the house and get him to take Evelyn, when he enters this stage, the screen is all dark in the village and can not do anything, to see nothing more a bug.
I've done all the quest talks with Nina and Sam saying that I would go to the mountain of the globlins, there is no damn entrance to this place, I try to get close to the well, he says it's very dangerous there, I try to enter a forest entrance before of the mine he says you can not go very far, cade the entrance to the mountain that I play garbage is this full of bug.
I'm using the latest version and it's all bugged.

Great game has some bugs but the Dev is trying to get them all fixed as he goes along... I enjoy a lot of his characters and story that can be done randomly as well as the relaxing farming to be done... All the Corn!!

is this an erotic game or a boring rpgmv farming mini-game?
you walk around and do "cores" way too long, after a bit you are not excited at all, just stressed out that theres more cores to do to get to the next event. sure, you can see that the dev put a lot of work into the game, but that doesn't mean the end result is satisfying. theres a ren'py version in the making by the same dev, im sure the team feel the same, all that potential ruined by rpgmv and the neverending walking around. other than that the idea is good, the characters are nice, so a lot of potentials. but that doesn't matter if the game is unplayable.

lots of potential, but some of the event triggers are hard to find and the bridge is bugged. Also can't give evylin fish for some reason. The walkthrough is also horribly out of date. All of that said, I very much enjoyed the game and hope it improves, vast amount o potential here. Will patronize.

Awesome game play, I liked the overall animations and Zelda like feel.

True there are a few bugs but overall the good out weighed the bad.
A cheat table would but epic, but in the spirit of the game not required.

I look forward to the next updates.

Not sure I would recommend playing at this stage... I got so many completed quests that i cannot turn in...not sure whats happening

The graphic and story flow are good I must say , but game mechanics wise ..utterly bad - 1 star

I spend most of my days(16) farming corn and expanding my farm and stacking up on completed quests until I fall asleep literally....but still I hope to see where this is leading , given the base of promise of things that can be done..yes u literally can decide what type of hero your guy is

The graphics are almost as good as Icstor , however unlike Icstor's games , where every pseudo decisions lead to the same response , the decisions in this game do matter .
I fondled Mia boobs... and she decided to end her friendship with me =( , but who could have blame me..
Personally I like games with decisions does matters , made me a save junkie... worrying I miss something important and make replay-ability high instead of just cruising thru 1 time and chuck it away.
But with all games that ain't linear VN with pseudo decisions , i would expect overall game development to be slow as it be branching out slowly... not recommend for those who just want quick thrills on their first few clicks and there are actual game play involved unless u wanna cheat which mean even more slower development.
