IMO, button placement needs to be more consistent. Buttons on the edges of the screen constantly move around. Interactive objects should be lightly highlighted, ESPECIALLY when hovered over. UI needs to be simplified. There's no need for the second menu that pops out on click. If you want to add a description to characters, add a codex where you can look up characters with their face next to the name.
Definitely needs a quick access wardrobe button.
As for moving throughout the city, adding notification icons on where quests are would be a huge help. Sometimes you can figure out where to go, but there are a lot of locations that are unnecessary early on, and add to the whole cluttered feeling. You shouldn't unlock those locations until later, when they are needed. When clicking on a location to travel, the animation also needs to be faster. It feels like it takes a whole second to transition, and that's ridiculous for a simple fade away. 200-300ms is all you need.
As for the bold new quests in the log, it would be a lot more clear if it had a (NEW) indicator next to it instead of the bold text.
Also I don't know why the quick move bar needs to be collapsed. It should have it's own space in the UI bar on the right, considering it's used so much. The image should have a bit of the pixels cut out and the buttons moved inwards from the edge.
Just these changes alone can cut out 70% of the clicks and waiting in the game.
