Although now I wonder why they weren't more interested in Monica after she was so nice. And the phone call with her husband seemed weird to me too, like he was behind it. It's also funny that Julia would have to know Monica's husband because she was the maid, so she would have to know that she couldn't be with Monica or mention what was going on with her husband at some point. I think the husband was just left out of the story.
Then welcome to our conspiracy theory club.:illuminati:

Hi, Is it necessary to finish Betty's storyline ("The maid that can't say no") before the Victoria's gym storyline starts? Now that I've already finished Victoria's storyline, Betty just no longer asks Monica to come with her to Gym even though "The Maid that can't say no" is not completed.

Or is there a way with console to get to that scene? It's easy to find out from scanning .rpy but I don't know much about renpy or how to set variables. Not sure either which variable would trig the continuation of storyline.

I'd really like to finish the Betty storyline!
Thanks.

Does Monica ever get her revenge in any path. All the paths I have played, she is still getting humiliated.

i suppose that you are in eps3
have you checked the guide
also a quest can relay on answers you have given earlier
i think of something monica are in relationship with ralph
that probably close the Betty storyline

after all monica been through... i know she's quite the arrogant bitch, who think she's above others, but all this mentally and physically abuse/torture.... damnn... what for?? what's the creator of this game tryng to imply?? hope when we get the ending, we'll get a satisfy conclusion..
I agree, in the story the amount of abuse and humiliation Monica is subjected to is very unbalanced, at least she deserves a few victories, the only victory that I feel is genuine is when she becomes the manager of the bar and partially in having His mansion in his charge, but what it is to be the head of the escorts and the deals with Steven, in my opinion, the reward does not equal abuse.

I agree that Monica deserves better, and I've written about it more than once in this thread. But I don't agree that the things you listed are her victories. They are pyrrhic victories, and they are tantamount to defeat. Everything she has accomplished turns out to be an even greater dependence on powerful people who crave her sexual and financial exploitation. What does it mean to get her mansion back when she still has no rights, no civil liberties, no papers, and is dependent on Ralph? If we're talking about the "Shiny Hole" she became the manager of, that's not a win either, she just took on more responsibilities and has to do even more obscene things to make the place pay off (more explicit customer service) + her dependence on the banker didn't go anywhere.

The same can be said for any storyline where Monica peaks. These are deceptive peaks, and they lead to her becoming even more dependent on those around her. Biff used to abuse her, now all the investors can do it. It's the same at VIP Escort - she's a manager there as long as she's willing to sexually service Steve and Tiffany, who has much more perverse plans for Monica than Steve does.

So I see only one option - among the future 8 endings, give Monica a chance to really get everything (civil rights, influence, money, documents) back at least in the 1st ending without additional encumbrances and new blackmail and humiliation. As I wrote before, it would be nice if such Monica could change from being a bitch, then such a reward would make sense, but this is my personal wish, I admit that the developer's plans for Monica are quite different.

Are we all becoming soft heart here?!?

Christmas is still far from coming..

Let me be Frank.. we all love seeing her get abused all the time, where is coming from this sense of fairness toward this bitch?!?

Too many Hollywood movies guys?!?
Bitches have to suffer, which is why I don't crave 8 happy endings for bitchy Monica and will gladly appreciate her trip to the Farm 218 and other such things like endless slavery at Philip's. But one ending for the really decent Monica, who made the least bitchy decisions throughout the game, is well deserved in my opinion. After all, why introduce a separate decency scale and carefully record every decision Monica has made since the first episode if it's supposed to end with a pissed and stoned prostitute lying in a slum gutter?

Oh, I did not know you could chose a "good" Monica path
LoL, I thought the only path is Monica bitch :D

<<Ending is a slum gutter>> (y)

Cool fair enough, if someone is brave enough to play "good" Monica, might deserve an Hollywood happy ending

From other side - there are not too many good choices after ep.1 for Monica (roses for Melanie in two scenes, golden showe for Melanie). Mb some others. So most choices leads to Melanie. So our theory that Melanie will be judge at wedding casting has some logic. If Monica was always on Melanie`s side, she could have good outbreak from this situation with happy ending with Melanie`s help. Melanie as 218 "agent" can give a conclusion that Monica is a good person ready for self-sacrifice.

I am wholeheartedly in favor of severe humiliation, but on another side.
Monica would pay sexual services to a real devil in a human body, and he would spoil such endings that Tarantino doesn't have so much blood in his films. For example farm: the member would cut off the legs below the knees, the hands from behind, and this way they can play with the pigs, who would eat them alive. Steve and Tiffany would play a game of who survives by killing the other. But the price for the winner would be death, but fast. Philip will be tortured in his basement on his device with sharp dildo and finally slowly dissolved in acid. Investors play Russian roulette..... and another happy endings = less people live, more happiness for this planet.

It could be much worse, but: I have "soft heart".

Hi, how can I know if I've finished ep 2? I have this doubt because no credits appeared and i have done all the missions, the only 2 i didn't finish are "go to the gym with betty" but i have done this several times, fucking ralph or waiting in the locker room and "go to marcus" (Is the same quest I mentioned on the previous page but an advise tells me it's not needed to finish the game and ends with credits).
No credits has been shown when i have done the last mission avilable (7th contract with steve) so I think there is something else to do, but what? Thanks for help

Although all quests are marked green, some quests can only be unlocked by visiting certain locations. To find out if you have completed all the quests, start your last save game in Episode 3. If you can start the game without answering any questions, then you have completed all the quests. So if you get questions, go to the places in Episode 2 that you had to answer in Episode 3.

I also thought I had done everything in Episode 2 because everything was green. Then I started episode 3 and I was asked if Monica had become king in Shiny Hole, so I went back to episode 2, went to Shiny Hole and the quest unlocked. I completed the quest and didn't get any more questions in Episode 3.

To sum up, start Episode 3 with your old save game and see if you have any questions to answer, if you do you're still missing something and if you don't have any questions you've done everything in Episode 2.

I haven't been following this game and this thread from the beginning, but I have been here since the early days of Episode 2, so it's interesting that this is the conversation which finally made me post here. But I decided that I had to throw my 2¢ in on the topic of "happy endings" for Monica.

I have a different take on this. I don't think that a happy ending, in which Monica finally gets everything back, should depend on whether or not she was more decent during the game, or even on whether or not she "learns her lesson." Sure, those things can factor into an ending, but I don't think that they should be the only way for her to reach a happy ending. And here's why I say this: I think it matters more what the player deserves.

Now, I don't mean to say that DecentMonkey should be guided and directed by whatever each player wants from the game. It's his story, and he should tell it as he sees fit. I'm a big advocate for developers not allowing players to hijack their stories. That being said, I do think that there is a big subset of the player base for this game which is persevering in the game in the hope of seeing Monica win, in the end. And I would probably put myself in that group, at least most of the time. I'm fine with all of the degradation and exploitation which Monica and Melanie suffer. I love it. Give me more, please. But I do want to see an ending in which they come out on top. Make them suffer for the entire middle of the story, but let them win in the end.

Sure, Monica is a bitch. If she wasn't, there would be no game. And Monica isn't smart, really. But she's perseverant, and she's ruthless. And those qualities can often produce success. So, after she has persevered through all of the shit, and after she has ruthlessly done anything necessary to get what she wants, I would like to see at least one ending where she gets it all back, whether or not she's been decent, and whether or not she's learned a lesson.

If I were writing the endings for this game, here's how they would go.
  1. There would be an ending in which Monica gets everything back and brutally punishes everyone who made her suffer or humiliated her. She would probably rescue Melanie from Alex, and possibly reward Melanie in some way, because Melanie became her ally and shared in her sufferings, but I would probably leave it up to the player to decide that. This ending would not depend on Monica having been decent from the start, having become more decent during the game, or having learned a lesson.
  2. There would be an ending in which Monica gets everything back, but doesn't punish anyone, or punishes only certain people, such as Victoria and Steve and Biff and Philip (and possibly some others). This ending would be dependent on her not having been decent at the start, but having learned her lesson from the karmic justice of suffering at the hands of those she made to suffer. In this ending, it would not be a player choice to help Melanie out. The Monica who learned her lesson would automatically help Melanie.
  3. There would be an ending for the Monica who was decent from the start. This Monica wouldn't exact vengeance on anyone, but other people would punish those who deserved it, on her behalf. This Monica would also help Melanie automatically. Who she ended up with, if anyone, would probably be down to player choices.
  4. There would be an ending in which Monica goes to the farm. This would be a long ending, with lots of farm content, because it's ridiculous that the farm was introduced almost at the beginning of the game, and we still haven't had any content for it. I understand that this is likely because of Patreon, but it's still a travesty.
  5. There would be an ending in which Monica does not get everything back, but she does escape from Marcus, the farm, and Victoria. Player choice might decide whether she ends up on the street, running the VIP escort service, or living with Ralph.
  6. There would be a "Victoria wins" ending, with Monica and Melanie escaping the farm animal fate, but never escaping from Victoria.
  7. There would be a "Fred wins" ending, with Fred getting Monica's mansion and money, but not her business. He would get rid of Ralph, marry Betty, and make Monica stay on as their maid. He would also welcome Bardy home from college, because fuck Patreon.
  8. There would a "Steve wins" ending, with Steve taking over the fashion magazine, Tiffany managing Steve's old office for him, and Monica being forced to go on catering to both of them.
  9. I would also include a ninth ending, in which Monica, with the support of the investors, escapes from Marcus and Victoria, but is not fully restored. The investors keep her on as a figurehead at the magazine, but she has no real authority. She somehow escapes having to marry any of the investors, but ends up having to keep them all satisfied, and also gets passed around by all of the office personnel, who have learned that she's just a puppet without any power.
Obviously, this isn't what will happen, but that's my wish list for endings.

too many good and fundamental endings. And similar in base. I think 4-5 of endings will be in sub plots- like bad end in Phillips basement, Steve’s office, home plot, bar. It will be more clear in 2-3 updates, cuz DM can merge plots like it was done with Julia and home plots.
