I guess it is understandable when a developer veers off the main storyline from time to time. Unlike we the players they know where the story is heading from the first update. So become more interested in side stories that come to their mind as they develop their game. That doesn't make it less frustrating for the players playing along with each update though.Everything is just like that. After all, where is Monica's promised week in Philip's basement, what was announced to us in EP2.2 ver1? ( December 7, 2020 ) Diffusion of forces on such side game activity (quests like Betty's adventures to a neighbor and floor cleaning for Julia) do not carry anything useful for the game, because the main plot of the game is blurred and the intrigue is gone.
Yes, I know, many developers suffer from this "disease" (for example, the same creator of Being a Dick, who released a whole new episode, which practically did not contain anything new, where there was almost no continuation of the main storylines, but he made an unnecessary and beautiful mini-game in the game (role-playing) ...And so I thought, why repeat the mistakes of other developers? I think the DM should understand that the dispersion of forces and departure from the main storylines, in the medium term, will not benefit the game. (Which I would not like at all)
When fashion Business was going through the Julia path in the office, I would curse each time I saw a spoiler with her path included. It would always be the first path i would playthrough each update as I play my least anticipated path first, hoping too leave the best for last. So when it came time for me to do a replay of the game I was surprised how well the Julia path worked when it could be played through together. It's one of Decent Monkeys best constructed paths. Now we are playing her updates one at a time again I'm back to cursing at Julia spoilers. For me the whole of Julia's path is better than it's parts.
Like most I find it frustrating if a path or storyline I'm interested in is not included each new update. As long as Monica is involved in the action of the update I usually get over it quickly. Personally I haven't overly enjoyed the Betty path when Monica is not involved or she isn't being blackmailed by Bardie. When a character just fucks someone "because" we might as well be looking at any gonzo porn scene.
I'm not expecting the Phillip basement path too continue until Steve's investment is addressed. As we discussed earlier I believe there is more to Steve than has been openly let on in the game.
At least decent monkey only has us wait 40 to 50 days between each update when the last couple of Being a Dik updates have been around six months apart. The Bella blowjob in the last update was awesome.
