Is there something wrong with the files of EP3 even? Updating it just fails to launch the game and somehow Winrar tosses back an "write error in the file". Anyone else facing this problem or is there any solution?

Come on, guys. The downloading of the game using a code is quite expensive for Decent Monkey. He pays for every Gb. Of course, it is much more convenient, but let's leave this privilege for the patrons.
Someone who has already downloaded should just share the link with the mods and they'll upload it on the first page of this thread. This ways it will be free for the developer, at least from this point of view.

I remember the good old days, when only the 720p version was available in public access a day later (or on release day), and players on f95 could wait 1-2-3+ weeks for the Extra version. At least this scheme of game "distribution" is not as disastrous for the developer as what happens during the recent updates, when almost the day after the release someone leaks the Extra-version to the public domain.

I haven't played the update myself , but feel those who haven't played the game can show a bit of patience and some benevolence to the developer , it's hard enough to develop a game which makes your living and harder to watch it getting shared instantly. Ultimately, it's the developer and the game that suffers and no one wants that. No one gets hurt by waiting a week or two.
