Or do you download ep 1, then ep 2 and copy/paste the game folder from 2 to 1, then the game folder from ep 3 to 1 and so on till all 5 are merged? I've only ever had to do that method once i think but it always makes me wonder when a game is split now

Try to rename it to z_activation.rpy instead and put it in there where the *.exe is and probably in the game-folder too.
