Orcs are increasingly portrayed as tribalistic -strongest gets the clan- precursors to Wakanda - kill the king to take his kingdom - rite of passage into kingship.

If this was the plan, then fine.
But the plan was NOT to kill the leader to claim command of the orcs.
The plan was exterminating the Orcs. And it failed miserably.
Also, the orcs did NOT bow to the MC as their new leader. They just ran away to reform under a new orc leader.

They finished what was of Chapter 2. They couldn't continue due to multiple people owning certain bits of the game and those said people died. And what does it being sold on Steam have to do with anything? There are 100's of abandoned games being sold on Steam.

Probably safe to assume they own specific assets, animations, sounds, etc that are used in the title that then became a cluster when some of the people passed on, with licensing/rights, and other shenanigans im sure. Just my guess.

Also no longer having said people to work on the parts that they provided would probably throw everything off and would need a rebuild from the ground up so they just likely dropped the project because of that.
