This is a great game, great features and I love the advanced background you choose for your character, but: taking 3 or 4 months to fix a couple of bugs and no story progress is a bit sad.
This game has huge potential but the dev really takes his sweet time.

No, it doesn't. It's just the HTML file and images on it are located either on the game's website or on imgur.com.

Imgur dependency is a problem, because imgur.com is inaccessible in some countries unless you use a VPN, so the game won't be able to display the images on that domain. While an "offline" version is definitely preferable, images that the game uses can at least be stored on the game's own website to circumvent the issue.

I would be more frustrated at the slow progress if not for the fact that every patreon games (and many indie games) I've followed are in the same condition. As such, I have lowered my expectations and stopped caring that much towards these kind of games. It's good if there are major progress (or finally reached completion) but won't lose sleep if there aren't. Again speaking as a non-patron/backer.

I think the new features coming up are a lot more clothes, new avatar system and so on, but that will be in 1.5. I don't think playing this little steps in between in worth it but I am very grateful for the upload though.
I doubt waiting for 1.5 is worth it either, as you'll be just as disappointed when you realize that you still cannot go to Bangkok. :(

First time playing. Really enjoyed it! Different set-up, well-written all around, real winner so far.

I'm sure the dev has all sorts of plans, but one thing I'd like to see is being able to customize your character's race and the resulting skin tone options.

Or one could simply use a website downloader (e.g. ) to create an offline version. However, there's no point in doing that right now, while the game is still in development.

However, Crushstation should definitely consider removing imgur dependency and store all images on the game's own instead.

Hi everyone, some quick answers.

- 1.5 will have a downloadable version to play offline.
- The online version will be stored on the game's own site.
- As for the long wait... yes we are aware and do our best, but nobody likes an unfinished version either. We are not full-time developers as we still have jobs but do our utmost best to bring 1.5 to you ASAP.

In response generally to those who want more content more quickly – hell yeah, I agree with you, I want to get to Bangkok ASAP too.

Version 1.5 will include a couple of new story scenes (a university scene, in which your agent can go to her graduation ceremony naked under her gown; and a new scene in the Scotland bunker, in which the agent models for the techies who are building up her fake social media profile). But it's mainly an upgrade of the avatar. The major improvements are:
  • Rear view of the avatar
  • Customisable facial features
  • Customisable body shape
  • Crisp, more detailed HD avatar graphics
  • Downloadable "image pack" version allowing offline play
  • Customisable tattoos, piercings, bikini lines
  • New hairstyles and hair colours
I know everybody is keen to get to Bangkok, but there are still two systems I intend to overhaul before we get there:

[Bangkok is] a few releases away, sadly. :( I have to upgrade two systems before I can write the Bangkok I wanna write.

1). Random NPC Generator
You know how the sex scenes in the game all currently feel samey? That's because the NPCs in the game don't have many distinguishing features programmed in. They don't have their own Kinks, or preferences about how and where to fuck the agent. They're all exactly as good in bed as each other. We basically need to code in some differences to make fucking them more interesting as this will be a core part of gameplay in Bangkok.

2). Sex Engine
Once that's done, we need to upgrade the Sex Engine so that the sex scenes are more interesting and differentiated. Basically my idea is to change the way the engine looks at sex from the current model, which is:

a series of mechanical actions which the characters involved progress through

to

an interaction between the location, the context, NPC traits, NPC decisions, PC traits, player decisions and a random element

Random NPCs and sex scenes are going to be a big part of the story in Bangkok, so I want to hit these first.
Additionally: after 1.5 is released, I'd like to make 1.6 a kind of "mini update" before I address Random NPCs and the Sex Engine. When she's at university, the game hits your agent with 5 sexy scenarios called "Kink Vignettes", which are intended to let you build your character's sexual backstory. It pulls them at random, but I stopped once I'd written five, which means every player gets the same 5 scenarios:
  • During a party game of spin the bottle, the bottle lands on another girl.
  • A professor develops a flirtatious relationship with the PC.
  • Two soldiers hit on the PC at a party.
  • The PC can model nude for an art exhibition at university.
  • A partner gets off on hurting the PC's boobs during sex.
Inspired by an earlier conversation here (thanks DinosaurUnion), I asked the fans to submit more scenes. I got loads of great storyboards back, including but not limited to:
  • The PC has sex with her boyfriend in front of his "sleeping" roommate.
  • The PC has sex with a guy she met in a bar and watches herself in a mirror.
  • A geek girl PC is propositioned for sex by her favourite author at a book signing.
  • The PC gets a booty call text from one guy while she's in bed with another.
  • While clothes shopping, the PC is hit on by a handsome, wealthy older guy.
  • The PC can pity fuck a classmate who is dying of cancer.
  • One of the PC's friends asks her to take part in a threesome for her boyfriend's birthday.
  • A geek girl PC's boyfriend asks her to dress up as Lara Croft during sex.
  • The PC develops an online porn habit based on one of her Kinks.
  • The PC learns that a Japanese exchange student is a budding shibari photographer, and can model for him in bondage.
  • Elite or Upper Middle Class PC gets in a hot tub with her friends at a ski resort.
  • Cheerleader PC gets hazed by the cheer captain.
  • North American or foreign Elite social class PC goes to Burning Man festival and can go nude/topless/body painted.
  • The PC's normally timid boyfriend asks if he can handcuff her during sex.
  • The PC goes to a toga party at a local student night. She can choose how short to make her toga, and whether she wears underwear or "goes Greek" for authenticity.
  • The PC meets and can be seduced by a sexy girl at her first Pride parade.
  • A geek girl PC video gaming against a room full of men can debuff their skill rolls by "accidentally" showing some skin during the game.
  • The PC can go naked for a PETA demonstration.
After 1.5, I'd really like to polish up these (and other) storyboards and incorporate them into the game. This would (a) add a bunch of new sexy scenes (b) make each playthrough different during the university section and (c) demonstrate my vision for the future of the game: an open world experience, that has a carefully written main quest but which also supports content written by others (i.e. side quests written by fans or hired writers).

So, my vision for the next steps are:
  1. Release 1.5
  2. 1.6: player-submitted Kink Vignettes
  3. 1.7: random NPCs upgrade
  4. 1.8: Sex Engine upgrade
  5. 1.9: Bangkok
It is possible to to skip (2). I don't want to do that, but I'll put it out to a Patreon vote after the 1.5 release and obey the results.

That stupid avatar system is going to kill this game. Too much work and time for such scarce results. It would be better a character with a good graphic design without customization of appearance and only really important customization of personality traits.

I don't usually post here but I like your game so here goes.

I think spending next year on upgrading npcs/sex engine is a bad idea. You are wasting time on something most players will skip after few iterations.

Imagine your agent is doing interesting quest/mission but to get to the next part you need to wait X time or earn X money.

So now instead of doing what you want you have to go to work and serve clients. Which in turn leads to you clicking "next next next" until you can go back and continue your mission.

Sure this may not happen during first few quests when sex scenes are new to you. But how long until you start seeing the same description and get bored with it? And yes I know you said you want to alter scenes based on agents experience with certain acts, but ultimatly she will reach end level in all of them and you will get the same scene. Not to mention personal preferences which will only narrow selection of scenes you are interested in. Also why exactly are we suppose to care about random NPCs you are fucking and never seeing again afterwards? It's the same story with relationship table you spend months fine tuning and I find myself choosing the least amount of partners needed just to skip it, because why would I care about past relationship that are nothing more than rows in a table? This also leads to my promiscuous agent having less sex encounters than average student.

Think about all those rpgs forcing you to change clothes and shower before going to sleep and then change again before going out next day. It's fun first time when you get to see new cg but ultimately ends up as a time waster and annoyance. And this is exactly what I think you will spend next year developing.

Very important observation, thanks Riven.

This actually touches on a feature I want to incorporate into the Sex Engine: an option for the agent to make style/technique decisions in the scene. Let's take the example of a BJ: right now all the agent can do is "move mouth on cock" X number of times to progress the scene.

My idea is for the player decisions to be more focused on changing the narrative of the sex scene, which will lead to more interesting scenes. Um, off the top of my head, instead of [[Suck his cock]] you might see a list of options like:

[[Kiss and tease his cock.]]
[[Give him a quick BJ as foreplay.]]
[[(BJ +0) Make out with his cock.]]
[[(BJ +1) Give him a long, professional BJ.]]
[[(BJ +2) Deep throat him.]]
[[(Likes Rough Sex & Prostitute +1) You look stressed, baby. Wanna fuck my face?]]

This approach will lead to more interesting and varied sex scenes, especially since incorporating the SURPS skill rolls and Random NPC upgrades will also make them dynamic (e.g. some clients will adore the Likes Rough Sex option, some will be appalled).

HERE'S THE CLEVER BIT:

The agent will also normally be presented with a choice like:

[[Just get this over with.]]

(Sometimes, depending on her emotional state, every other option might be greyed out.)

This will put the Sex Engine in a kind of "jaded hooker" mode, where the agent just tries her best to end the scene as fast as she can. Descriptions will be shorter, details glossed over, and – provided she makes her SURPS rolls – then she can blast through the scene in just a few clicks.*

So, basically, if the player isn't that into a sex scene, that's fine: neither is the agent, and the game will know not to go into a lasciviously detailed blow-by-blow account of the eleventh BJ of the agent's shift. (To me that nicely simulates the PC becoming totally desensitised to fucking strangers for cash.)

[* if she fails her SURPS rolls, though, her half-assed performance isn't doing anything for the client, and then we get to another decision – does she change position? Try and get into it? If her Stress level is high, does she cry? Does the client like that, and start fucking her harder? And he has choices as well – will he just keep plugging away? Feel bad and stop? End things and ask the mamasan for a refund? Slap her around a bit to liven her up?]

My thinking on this is that putting in a shift at the Hard Cock Cafe should be a gameplay mechanic that stays interesting. You're right that this isn't possible with the existing Sex Engine gameplay, but that's why I wanna upgrade it. :)

I really dislike this gameplay mechanic, and don't intend to include it in Female Agent.
