You're wrong here, Ren`Py is great and extremely flexible and if you wanted to and knew how to code, you could do exactly the same game in Renpy with fewer bugs and smoother!

But that's not because of Ren'Py, it's because the developers don't include any real gameplay elements. Take a look at this extremely simple game, it shows that you can do more with Ren'Py than just standard visual novels.

Sure, it might look like an RPGM game but why reinvent the wheel? Every engine has its pros and cons.
If you prefer gameplay over visual storytelling then RPG Maker is your choice
But if long visually appealing narratives are what floats your boat go with Ren’py instead!

But FIELDING GROUND BALLS IS NOT MY JOB! I don't make errors like that at my job, so why is it OK for him to make errors like that at his? The same principle applies here. Creating visual art is not where my talent lies, nor do I know the first thing about coding. I wish I did! But this guy does, and he's just bad at it. However, I am actually a former professional writer and editor, so I could, and I have, come up with my own stories far better than this one. In other words, watch yourself, because you know not with whom you fuck.
Don't misunderstand me. The story behind this game, at least what of it I read, isn't bad. The premise is actually interesting. It's just that the fact that it's made using RPGM instead of Ren'Py (and yes, I do know the difference!) makes it a real drag. Like I said in my original post (which I doubt you even read), the curse of every RPGM game is that there's too much walking around looking for shit and not enough advancement of the story. I would actually LOVE to see a version of this game made using Ren'Py, cutting out all the time spent travelling from one place to another and just telling me a story... (Though it would need MUCH better art. The art used in this game looks like it was made by a kindergartener.) But as long as the game keeps using RPGM, I'm going to keep voicing my distaste for that engine.

I personally prefer hyperrealism but I wouldn’t bash an entire game just because its not made my favorite artstyle RPG Maker or Ren'Py doesn't require deep programming knowledge, at least that's the case for most people getting started.

The author has utilized 99% of this engine’s capabilities and is quite skilled in doing so. I'll ignore how much effort and time was put into creating it by its developer. Only someone who spent their own hours on game creation can truly appreciate such dedication

Absolutely, I never said you should use Ren'py to make an RPG Maker type game. It's just that it's up to the developers that Ren'py games usually don't have any gameplay elements and not the engine, because there's a lot you can do with it.

I clicked on the first link was immediately disappointed and you lost all credibility you had and I wont be checking the other links

Its also possible for me to to travel to the moon, and become the sun god ~ sums up your argument

Sure, it's easier to create such a game in RPG Maker, because you already have the whole basis in there.

Take a look at this and download it. It's only a framework with a demo but it works great and runs better than any game in RPG Maker and you could build on something like this extremely well.

As an example, I will take this game, on the one hand you could easily go for a 11h session and on the other hand, playing games on Ren'Py could be extremely boring and you will just play this game only 3h max if you read a little.

It depends on personal preference. I personally play porn games mainly for the porn inside, not the game.
Ren'Py games are a more convenient and intuitive way for me to enter the porn scene I like, while RPGM games are more friendly to players who want to play games at the same time. （if you know what i mean. you know what i mean ）

I didn't pay for the game so I should say nothing, but damn, 5 months without update... She previously said that the team took time to organize themselves and created a tool that allowed them to go much faster

I don't know if she still likes adding content to this game

Well, honestly and soberly, if you get a lot of money for doing “nothing”, why should you do anything?
But joking aside (or not), the tool she's working on is supposed to help her get back into the project in the future because AI will be responsible for dialogs and she won't have to come up with dialogs over and over again with slight variations for slightly different conditions for all characters, which takes a lot of time and is extremely annoying (and it's not exactly simple or very clear in RPG Maker).
I imagine that creating such a tool and then somehow integrating it into RPG Maker is difficult and time-consuming, but only the future will show whether it was worth it or not.
Personally, I don't think it will have any positive effect on this game or lead to faster updates.

(And I can't blame her, having to write dialogues variations for the next update sounds like hell I'd procrastinate forever) So instead she spent months working on an AI engine that writes dialogue for her and plans to be a big help for the next game. Working with an AI for dialogues will likely reduce the dialogue quality, or in the worst case, fill the game with AI Slop. And I agree that it likely won't speed updates, in the worst case it goes at the same rate, except instead of good writing it's something done by an AI in one day. But we gotta stay positive, AI is very good when a human's creativity works with it, in that sense the AI could do 90% of the work and the edits she does here and there is much less demotivating so the parts of the game she hates working on is less depressive.

Overall it did sound like she got burned out writing dialogues so she's working on the next game instead, one where the dialogue is AI generated lol

Imo she should have waited a few more years for AI to improve before making this new AI game and just stick with normal updates for this game for now. I don't think current Ai is good enough for what she has in mind and judging by her discord messages she's wasting too much time trying to make it work
