I'll go ahead and take the avalanche of Facepalms for saying this, but I actually really like sandboxes when they are done well. Some of my all-time favorite h-games are sandboxes. But I know different people dislike them for different reasons. I think some basically just lean more towards things like kinetic novels. But I think more often the culprits are probably 1) Grind, and 2) Poor direction given (if any in some cases). Which I think imo is very understandable, and the two biggest examples of sandboxes done badly (I will say that I definitely don't care for the mini-games in this one though).
One of the aspects of sandboxes that I do like though is the extra layer of interactivity, which I think probably appeals to the gamer in me. But what I like even more is the feeling of progression ("rags to riches" stuff), and especially with things like unlockable and repeatable sex scenes (it's a different feeling than only just replaying past scenes in a gallery).
I really hope that that kind of thing gets eventually added. Being able to do different and progressively more depraved shit around the apartment with Stacy, maybe moving more chicks in, fooling around with the ones at work in different ways, etc.
Speaking of Stacy, if I had to pick one canon ending to branch off a sequel from FL, this one would make a lot of sense to me. Many of the others had a feeling of finality to them. Stacy was definitely a favorite. And her wanting to build up a porn studio with the smoldering embers of FL as a foundation is a very interesting premise. I hope that shitty studio that they're living in with a mattress on the floor in the corner, gets slowly pimped out, and has more features and activities added to it. Again, the feeling of progression thing.
Anyway, that's my almost certainly in the minority feedback. Best of luck wished to the dev.
Edit: My initial impressions of the game were probably more positive overall because Story Mode was available when I first tried it. If the mini-games had been forced when I played it, then my overall experience probably would have been more frustrated and negative.
