VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Fetish Locator [Week 3 v3.6.9] [ViNovella]

I would consider this game as a classic. It's definitely not perfect, the later content looses it's edge a bit, but I'd recommend it to everyone who wants to have a good fap and likes the various fetishes.

Pros:
- a nice balance between porn and story: this is a porn first game with a good story which is not just for show but it really legitimates the porn content.
- a real fetishfest: there's ton of content but it doesn't get boring due to the wide variety of fetishes, without wandering too far to the dark side
- good visuals: maybe it counts as a bit dated nowadays (especially the animations) but still looks good and lets be honest, 95% of the crap from this site looks way worse
- good characters: LIs are interesting and diverse, most of them have enough content to have some depth
- good writing: although there're some weaker parts, the story and the writing is really good and enjoyable.
- the game is completed, the story is wrapped up properly

Cons:
- although I mentioned the good balance between porn and story, this isn't true for the later parts. The writer put too much emphasis on the story and the characters, especially in the endings. I don't say that these segments are bad, just they are a bit boring (lots of text) considering that this is a real porn game, not a story oriented erotic VN.
- probably too many LIs: I always prefer less LIs with more content. Some girls are basically irrelevant for the main story and are abandoned in later segments, they could have been left out completely to begin with.

[v0.3.0.15] As a fetish theme based game, it's great; as a adult game, it's nice. My summary:

- Decent story. It is a pretext to experiment all different fetishes the game has. In my opinion, too much text sometimes and not that great quality.

- H-scenes are great. Very well directed scenes.

- Good animations.

- The pace of the scenes are nice almost all time, a bit accelerated in the final part of the game.

- Character design very good. A lot variety of body types, personalities and tastes. It's a shame that if you dont like a specific fetish, some girls will be "locked".

- Great sound/music. The music is really nice through all game and when there is a H-scene, it change to somesome more relaxed/erotic. As sounds, there are random ones like "knocks" or wind, "voices" and moans too.

- Almost technically perfect. I played it with 0 bugs, but when replaying some scenes sometimes launch exceptions, but all of them were ignorables. Stable fps.

* To explain myself, because this is a adult game, I appreciate a lot more H-scenes than story, thats why I give it 4 stars (and the story is not that bad neither).

one of my fav avn atm, story is good, nothing crazy but it works and opens many paths that finally lead to one of the many endings this game has. Visuals are beautiful! specially the girls, that are not only very unique on look and traits. And the game is fun too, music is ok, the small sounds give some "life" to the dialogues. Its clear that this is a proyect that deserve all the praise it has. And the most obvius one, flavors for everyone. Hope they make a few spin-offs if not a sequel.

This game makes me sad, so I won't be going too in-depth with it.

The gist of it is that I first played this game back when Week 1 was just ending (ie: years ago). And I LOVED it.
The girls were hot, the guy wasn't hideous, the fetishes were varied, and it had a hot trans girl. Literally checking all the boxes for me. And it checked those boxes for other people too, just check out some of the earliest reviews of the game and count how many times people use the word "promising".

In fact, I loved it so much, I decided to stop playing until it was complete in order to have a full experience of the game. So I waited, and waited, and waited. Every time I saw it update, I was reminded of how awesome it was and how excited I was for it to finish.

This leads us to now. The game is finally done and I finally replayed it. It's sad to say, but oftentimes, the other side of "promising" is "disappointing".

First off, the once-beautiful models now look very dated. The animations are stilted and not nearly as smooth as more modern games, the writing that I mostly ignored in favor of the great erotic content was suddenly sticking out like a sore thumb now that the erotic content is middling at best.

Some people might say that comparing it to modern games isn't fair, but there are plenty of older games that have reworked models and improved visuals/animation as time went on, but this dev seemed to be content sticking with the old, bland, and boring models and animations from beginning to end.

Overall, I'm super disappointed that this game ended up the way it did. It was so promising and I had very high (perhaps unrealistic) hopes for what it might have become. Hopefully the dev's next project will have some of the same content, but with some improved writing and updated models.

I waited till this was done before I tried it. Now it is complete so cool.

I found it average, I guess unlike others who rate this so highly, I wasn't that impressed. Lots of girls, tonnes of content, lots of different fetishes.

The story, really didn't find it engaging, most of the LIs I found were shallow and everything seemed just...a vehicle to get to the fetish stuff.

Good, even great graphics, but no depth and didn't really care about the characters.

Edit: So completed the journey, still meh... Lots of kinks, and unfortunately if you like a particular LI you also have to like her particular fetish. For instance a rather interesting and good looking LI, happens to be into watersports, don't like watersports...no content. Same with cosplay, if not your thing..no content. That can be resonable, but ALL the content for them is that fetish type content, there isn't really anything else, but the vehicle this game rides to get you to the particular fetish.

Whole game plays like if you could put pornhub on gonzo random porn . No real depth. Visuals are nice thats about it.

This is in many ways my favorite game. The story is good, many very nice chars and nice renders.
Since I like watersport this is the best game out there. In most game peeing is used as a punishment but in this game the MC actually enjoy it.

I am not in to redheads but the character of Amber Rose is very hot.
The story has come to an end but I think it is the right timing. Its a pity that VU is far from this good.

i've played Being a DIK (one of the best VN on this site imo) and for me this game is at least at the same level. The game is about the MC trying to uncover a mystery of who control the app "Fetish Locator" while collecting points to keep his secret picture safe.
PROS :
- The writing is engaging
- the characters are very likable
- the choice to keep or skip fetish who doesn't interest you.
- But most of all it has FUTA (trans more precisely) !
I like girl as much as the next guy but Lyssa is a freaking goddess

CONS:
- Animation are very good but sometimes too stiff

story: 4/5 The rhythm of the story does not suffer from any length, it is rare enough to notice it and it is a big strong point!
Other than that, the story is pretty decent.
The first week to my great despair seemed very "hardcore kink" oriented but fortunately week two is much less

characters: 3/5 There are a lot of them with a correct variety, on the other hand some of the characters that I found the most attractive are unfortunately inaccessible to me, because directly related to "hardcore kink".
We also notice that the access characters on the kinks are not developed enough, they are often only a simple stereotype of their affiliated kink

sex scene: 4/5 They are really many and of a good duration.
But I regret that the dialogues are not very much there, they are not really erotic

renders: 4/5 I did not find anything incredible, but they remain very correct

sound: It is very good unfortunately like in many other games there are big gaps without music

gameplay: 3/5 Lots of choices and lots of paths, but I find it difficult to put more than 3, because the frustration is really very strong, since if you are not of all the kinks, you will really feel like you missed a very large amount of stuff

I don't really give out five stars. Five stars is perfect in my mind. It's a journey rather than a destination. That being said, I gave this one four stars so that might tell you something.

There are other VN's I have rated quite high, but this one in particular is unusual.

This novel falls into the category pf a Fantasy Fulfillment style. That is to say that the choices are very simple digital yes / no choices. Do I want to take this action with this person, yes or no. Nothing actually stops the story from moving onward. The actions are simply the dressing for a pretty darned good story.

An excellent touch as far as the story goes is having a good reason to participate. In the hands of a lesser novel there is a sense of simply giving in to the authors wishes and poking the MC's dick into anything vaguely like a moist orifice. Not so with this one.. Right from the start it is possible to be engaged in what is going on and feel the need to participate as fully as possible.. It gives you a huge sense of freedom by implying that the MC genuinely has no choice but to play along even though you can actually refuse anything or anyone.

Every choice does fit into a real path. While it is possible to "lose", which in an adult VN is usually to end up with no partner(s), this one doesn't feel like losing. There is a path for every companion, and every fetish, and being alone is simply another perfectly reasonable choice. Especially when the big surprise comes out... I personally felt that my own choices made perfect sense.

There you go. This story covers the most well known participatory fetishes. It even lightly brushes pointing out the mindsets of people who actively engage in such fetishes. It almost feels as if it is written by a therapist as there is nothing judgemental about it. As long as it doesn't contribute to a felony it's fine and dandy. Honestly, you don't have to be into any of these fetishes to enjoy learning a little about them, so this can be fun even if you are very vanilla. The MC has to do some of these things to further his goals, so why not explore a few of these things safely.

The models are not hugely modded other than clothes and hair so you should see most of your favorites. Even though they are physically the same things (again) the writing is so strong that they all seem new.

The gameplay, as previously mentioned, is fantasy fulfillment, but there is a little something more. Just as most others, this means that your choices will not suddenly affect the main story. This is usually my one downer as it can give you a loss of immersion. The story is so heavy however that it doesn't feel that way here. In addition there are a lot of discrete endings so those choices actually do matter rather than simply ending with a harem photo with empty spots in it.

Speaking of endings, there is a twist. On paper, it shouldn't be that hard to miss but I admit that I genuinely got so sucked in to the main story that it did in fact surprise the hell out of me. It also affected how I finished the game.
To me, that's a huge thing. I was mad, I was hurt, and I was left contemplating all of my previous choices. If you take a very slightly different path from my first one, you may feel quite differently. It takes some damned good writing to do that. It felt rushed, but every time I replay it I realize that this twist was set up right from the start. Bravo.

CONCLUSION

I don't think anybody really puts our adult games on the level of triple-A games, but this is one that maybe should be. This one goes on my list as a must-play. The story, the sex, the models, the fetishes... whatever brings you into this community, you should be happy with Fetish Locator.

Excellent variety of content and characters, great quality renders and video clips and a decent story.
Those looking for meaningful branching story choices will find themselves a little bereft, choices are mostly limited to fetish preferences, but the core narrative was engaging enough that most probably won't even grumble too much.

Recommend if you want alot of fetishes and the tags appeal to you. The game has a broad spectrum of fetishes that gets explored, more so than the usual college setting game.

1. The renders are decent and the sex animations are solid. Speaking of which, there are ALOT of sex scenes.
2. The story isn't great. There's a running plotline about the Fetish app, but it really goes all over the place just to have the MC stick his dick in something.
3. A good part of the story is you can make a lot of different choices that actually affect the ending. There are ALOT of endings depending on the love interest you focus on and choices made in game.
4. The love interests feel pretty flat. Ironically, their fetishes become their entire identity and the writing doesn't develop them much more than that.

This is such a thoughtful game. Some of the other games I've played from this forum feel a tad gross, like they were made by someone who's never spoken to women before. In Fetish Locator, the characters, story, interactions, and every other aspect are so well fleshed-out. It feels like women have had a lot of input regarding the development and writing, or perhaps some queer folks even. It's a very refreshing vibe!

Aside from serving those kinks, the story quality starts out great.
Of course, you are the ordinary Nobody, fantasizing about your crush. Sadly, your experience sums up to Zero because the MC doesn't get any girls in the past.

But this changes (of course), a mysterious App on your Smartphone forces you into lewd adventures, where you experience quality time depending on the fetish/kink you agree on.

Week1/Part1 of the game starts out great with it's story. It introduces you to major and minor characters you encounter through your game. Yet, during Week2/Part2 the story falls flat.
While at the beginning, you are the Nobody who tag along with his friends and experiencing new stuff, during Week2/Part2 you manage to become the Alpha who is the centre of any group. Lastly it drops off by only offering service for the player (Want some fuck? Yes/No).

In some way the developer is right, all the fetishes are "optional" but something that the dev never said is that the girls are "optional" too, because if some girl is into watersports or some fetish that you don't like, you lose your chances with that girl because looks like this girls are only interested in one fetish and all of them are only interested in one at the time, so you lose the chance to see all the content that those girls have, still, don't worry because they don't have much or interesting content, all the content those girls will give you is only related with the fetish they like, so most likely you will end fucking just with 3 girls of the 20, and avoid all the others because the game force you to choose those fetishes just to fuck that girl.
Later in the game the dev doesn't even care if you like something or not, if I'm not mistaken there is one scenes with Lysa where she gives you a footjob, I don't like footjobs and I'm pretty sure I never said that I was okay with that, but the game still make it happen, if you see the script there are options that give you better outcomes with some girls, but those options are fetishes, like a rimjob, so to get a better relationship with that girl the game wants to force you to choose the rimjob.
I was kind of okay with the game at the start, even when was pretty clear that the dev lock you out of some girls paths on purpuse when he made them fetish exclusive, but later in the game that is more noticeable and worst.
Im okay with optional fetishes but not with "optional" girls, that is stupid.

The level of the writer is very high, both in the picture and the story .
Each girl is very attractive and highly recognizable
All animations are processed instead of using images alone .
The story has suspense and twists and turns, and in the late stage has a different ending direction .
But there is a very big problem , SM's taste is too heavy , there is a scene throughout the three works that I can't forget , a girl named May was drinking pee as if she were drinking water all story .

Overall a good VN. Some of the fetishes were not my taste but skipping them didn't block out too much enjoyment from the story. The main LI choice was unfortunately tied to a subject hotly debated so I leave it to others. Willing to up the rating depending upon how the next update pans out. A threesome between the MC, the lawyer and the MC's friend (sister if patched I guess) could surely cinch an upvote.

Nice candy, in an expensive wrapper: graphics - check! Good animations - check! Lots of fetishes - check! Unpretentious background to everything that's going on - check! Except this candy turned out to be completely tasteless. On paper everything is gorgeous and a potential contender for top 1, but the game has no spark, no chemistry between the characters, the situations are sometimes absurd and drawn-out. The game doesn't set a sexual mood, everything looks like a set of porn scenes according to your stated fetishes. Subjective - nothing to lose by passing this game.

Image quality is good, there is a lot of content. I liked the storyline. I would love to have some more choices earlier in the game with some of the characters, but understand that takes workload doubles with each storyline so for simplicity sake this is not added. I had my doubts of some of the characters early on and in the end some of my doubts were confirmed.

Overall fun game to play with a nice story and a lot of choices.

• Mod options are neat, though I prefer not having to use it to see all the options for a more immersive experience.

• The logic behind the plot is there, though there is the occasional convoluted point.

Cons

• The dialogue drones a bit, it becomes hard to find distinguishing features between the characters in text, they all follow a similar speech pattern with the main variety being aggression/mood. Subsequently, characters can lose their distinction and it may prove harder to feel any sort of attachment to some/most.
• It's not very clear if certain fetishes are locked behind taking certain routes, even with the mod.
• The conflicts in the game feel rather easily solved at all the wrong times and way too heavy-handed when the solution is already presented... and easy.
• [major personal gripe] The main character is a moron. More than I'm willing to tolerate at times. Taking the Lydia romance seriously, he brings up that he should be upfront and honest about as much as he can with her, plans for some of it, fails to carry through by virtue of no reason other than he didn't make time to deal with this and then proceeds to have trouble stir up from it. This is enough of an issue that I've had to take at least one break from the idiocy that is this character. Quite literally all of his existence feels like its main mistake is failure to be open, IRONICALLY, while sleeping around openly. The blackmail feels hilariously weak as a result, because the only weight it carries stems from his weird random-insecurity moments that get immediately overlooked when he has to fuck shit. He's Kirito, but instead of just being hyper-cringe, there is also little consistency to his mental processing. I would've preferred a one-dimensional nice-guy cringelord to whatever this is. He's written as though he's supposed to be socially balanced but has no sense of responsibility unless it randomly needs to happen for the plot, despite the writing trying to convey otherwise.
  TLDR: MC is a dipshit. One of the lamer variants of the harem master trope, even by porn game standards.

Summary
An enjoyable game, I've only one notable issue with it, being the somewhat random nature of the MC. -1* for personal taste, if I didn't mind the idiocy, this would be a 4.5*. ish.
