I wholeheartedly agree. I recently did a full playtest of the entire game and flagged a lot of different things that would need special attention for a hypothetical "patch." If I watered those down, it would ruin a lot of what is fun about those relationships.
I'm not an expert on how to make a patch, but I've researched how to go about it as an exercise of the mind. There are folks who have done translations so someone making a patch would likely pursue that process. I dunno, I'm a total dumbass on this topic...

Having the game "funded" in 2025 is not a priority to me. I'm making this game because I enjoy making it and I publish it because others find value from it.
Having the game be funded would have been more of a priority in, say, 2018 when things were a lot more free on the internet. Years ago, I could commission VA sound effects & vocals quite easily with PayPal, but PayPal has cracked down on transactions of an NSFW nature. The last transaction I had with a VA I had to resort to Amazon gift cards and someone from Amazon immediately called me to ask me why I was buying them. It just seems like there is so much more scrutiny put upon how money moves around these days that it's not even worth the hassle. I have accepted the fact that I have to make do with the VA sounds I've already purchased.
Honestly, that sounds like an ethical nightmare.
I'm sympathetic to those who want to keep games like this out of the hands of minors. I can age gate my game and my Discord server, but ultimately my tools are limited.
Setting up a PG-13 Patreon page with pinups that functions as a rabbit hole that leads to a taboo 1nc3st game seems to be one of the worst decisions I could make.
I'm not saying that's what you're proposing, it just seems like the practical outcome that would come from that approach.
I don't love the "input this character's relationship" approach because the start of the game then becomes more of a survey and less of a game. I think the start of Five of a Kind where you meet Meredith and Brooke as like an extended introduction scene is pitch perfect and I don't want to mess with it at all.
"What is Meredith's relationship?"
Player inputs "mother"
"What is the short version of Meredith's relationship?
Player inputs "Mom"
"What is Brooke's relationship?"
Player inputs "ssister"
<Oh shit, I typed that wrong. What the fuck is "ssister?">
