I believe scenes are handled separately, it's just the walking animation that is turned off .

I can't even finish the first proper camping day. :/
I've done the fishing event and then nothing more happens. Even when taking a break for hours and hours nothing happens. I've tried restarting twice. I don't understand how I'm supposed to end the camping trip.

the sound is disable, open the game, go to options and set everything to 100%
