Hey man, love the game and content, just hope y'all are doing alright. Seems like the community is getting really tired of what they're seeing releasing, and I'm not a game dev so take what I next state with the largest grain of salt;
It might be better to just.. Nose to grindstone that new engine port you all have been working on. I've been playing FS for several years and the "The New Engine is coming, this one is just too stacked!" has been a constant reminder that seems to not really go anywhere.
I'm sure switching to the new engine is a herculean task, but at some point I think it's better to say "It's done when it's done. Mark the game abandoned if there's no update in X months but it'll be here when its ready" and do it that way then just.. Small piecemeal changelogs.
You know how gamers can get - Now make them horny gamers with blueballs... Yikes.
If we're talking about time, over all these years they could've rebuilt the entire game on a new engine twice over. Especially considering this game isn't developed by just one person. Hell, nowadays with AI that can write all the code for you, the only real work left would be inserting the actual game content. But fine, who am I to claim this - maybe it really is that difficult.
What I can say with absolute certainty is that they've had enough time to fully complete all character storylines and game branches. I've written stories myself - even working slowly, I produced 60-70k words per month. This game's updates typically contain maybe 5k words monthly at most. Heck, just compare it to games like TITS or COC2 that have already surpassed Flexible Survival's content volume two times over.
Then again, if this game was designed as a cash grab from the start, that explains everything - and that's just sad. Had the developers actually cared about growing this project, none of these complaints would exist today.
