Oh man, this game is a grind fest, I played like three f hours and I couldn't even get a proper scene with Melinda. And I thought straitened times was grindy, nothing compares to this thing.

I thought I was stuck at the whiskey / yellow bikini / necklace quests, but I pieced together all the notes from this page & figured it out.
Here's what I found - I was getting the yellow bikini scenes, but it never moved forward & I was going to Mel's room at 14:00 and never seeing Will. I guess there's a Sunday specific sunbathing scene where she leaves for Linda's office for a check-up and you had to do that 3-4 times until that progressed Mel taking you to Barbara's house for a pedicure.
Once I got that scene, the next time I went to the shop, the necklace was there. Buy that and give it to her after sunbathing and that triggers the hug from behind & seeing Will drunk at 14:00. Now everything seems to be falling in place. Hope this helps!

this happens late into the game. most likely you haven't progressed enough. and Ann will do it automatically, so you'll just noticed it, but you don't have to do anything

not enough progress. this game is a massive grind, so just keep going. use the walkthrough to help

I would suggest you ask this over on the Recommendations forum, not on the thread for this game. It's against site rules (Rule #2.4) to ask this stuff here, and I've seen mods remove posts over this. That also apparently goes for answering and providing suggestions to others. If you start a new thread there, I'd suggest linking to the OP of this game for reference.

So your saying you can't finish without a walkthrough and a save???
It should be apparent how to proceed if you play the full game your self and figure out things as you play.
