This game is still being updated? It feels ancient by this point,I played it a while ago and liked it but I though it was finished, didnt try to do it 100% tho so I though it was finished.
Should I replay it now or wait for it to be finished? What will that be? Years?
Whoa there, back up a lil bit.In my opinion, THIS product is dead (as a game)...
(cutting this out to make it less wordy)
As confirmation of my words - the author ALREADY let it slip that he is working on Shironoyakata and SuccubusAffection2 and this news is on the dlsite page...

To put it simply—don’t expect THIS to ever reach a full release. Treat it as a tech demo and nothing more, but definitely not as a game.
I feel like we need to clear up some misconceptions here.
"Zell Accounts"
First up that DLsite page is not Zell's page but their coding partner Ansala; please don't get them confused.

."State of Builds"
Next you got the whole conception of the builds all wrong.
First we had initial conception, then the A and B version and lastly today the REMAKE.
Initially the game was supposed to be just a gallery for animations with the added gameplay elements only coming later.
And even then there was a separate line of build for just testing. (Fanbox posts from roughly April 2018 to December 2021)
Version A and B are not experimental builds but in fact the fully realized projects, at the time, with new areas, enemies and animations added.
As stated before the reason for why there is a divide with A and B is that Zell actually reached the engines limits, similar to Scott Cawthon with UCN, resulting in having to make a sorta part 2 of the project.
They canceled it realizing that it would be better to find a new engine to work on the project again.
The Horry Gallery Test Builds were part of that process of learning to work with a new engine.
But their dev partner Ansala didn't like the direction of the theme went and they decided to split it.
Ansala would then incorporate it as SAs sequel while Zell would take it more into a horror scenario. (

)And new here we are at the Remake.
Since that conclusion they have not just returned to fobs but also decided to fully remake it!
Including the February post, the last 10 updates Zell posted test/debug/tech builds with an update to what they worked on in the last month with remastered animations for returning enemies and even new ones.
They want to improve the short comings the old fobs had by making this into an actual game now.
Zell even mentioned in the January update that they wanted the February update to be the release version and I must say it is It's gotten really close it it with in my opinion only needing the tutorial to be implemented now.
"What is different?"
Now I could no possibly count off all the things but the most major additions are:
- 3 save slots instead of just 1 (title screen first option is new game, second is saves)
- a menu including settings, bestiary, etc. (access by pressing Tab)
- a map of the current area with fast travel to save points
I suggest you to

and read up the changes from each month; and keep in mind to translate the page. (bottom of the page leads to next post in line)So In Conclusion:
I doubt the game "never getting finished" is a long shot but I doubt it will get an actual ending; I'd imagine it just concludes with you having 100% it.
SA should NOT compared to FOBS aside from art.
Sequels are currently too ambitious to be discussed as of this moment.
Therefor, enjoy the current builds and move on to something else until the end of the month when a new update drops.
Hope this cleared most of it but if you got any more questions you can always reply to this.
Have a great day!
