Has anybody managed to get the new builds running on Wine / Crossover? When I attempt to do so with Crossover, I get a bunch of errors related to MoltenVK / Vulkan.

Okay, I am stuck here.
I also got the missing dll error.

However, before I decided to make a post I tried basically everything: installing the windows studio and c++ to get the file - didn't work, I also tried the direct method thanks to the very generous gift of files above - nothing - but I then tried playing around with which folder it might consider for the file and I found a couple but then I just got an error about not starting properly...

There's one method I posted that does all of that heavy lifting for you, and I've yet to see it not work. (It could still fail, but in that case, the problem wouldn't be the files.) Hopefully this fixes your issue.
Also, to anyone running into the dll issue, while I'm not perfectly in touch with tech to know the exact fix you might need, I was taught a bootleg fix by someone a few years ago. (If I could thank them directly again, I absolutely would, but I can't for the life of me remember what game it was that the fix was for. I think it was Buzama...?)

Instead of downloading the C++ files directly, what you can do is download this game above, The Legend of Jump Jump, that's also made in Pixel Game Maker MV. It will allow you to play this and any other game in PGMMV in the future, because the problem shows up in all of them if it shows up in one. When you run the installer for Jump Jump, it'll automatically check if you have the C++ files it needs to run and install/update them if it can't run. It's super useful and kinda strange how no one else has done it, but eh. It is what it is. Anyway, the files it'll install or update are the same ones needed to run any other game in the same engine, so you should never run into this specific issue again after you download it. You can safely delete Jump Jump after it has installed without losing the C++ files, but it is a fun game, so you should try it anyway.

Best of luck to all of you, and I do apologize if this no longer works somehow.

I didn't see this at time of writing (maybe I just missed it with my bad concentration as of late) and it's a verrrrry interesting and kind of genius solution to a problem like this.
I'll give it a try and edit this message with results.

Edit 1:
Well the other error is gone but...
Didn't work and it now says I'm missing 120 and 100.

Edit 2:
Jump Jump wouldn't even play; I checked it as I was about to uninstall.
Same error

That's really weird...clearly something got fixed, but somewhere along the way things got completely shattered again. I'll look into it and see what I can find on it.

What do the items in the shop do? They don't have any descriptions when I buy them
That's because the game is on the wrong language. We figured this out earlier this month. If you change the in-game language to English and the language of the engine itself (through the settings in the top left corner) to Japanese, you'll be able to see the descriptions. Turns out the game has a lot more writing than it seems, which is part of why many believed this was just an extended tech demo.

SuperHGeek I looked this up and realized I never actually tried this method when I had the problem initially, so see if this works. If this does not work, then that means you might need to reinstall the C++ stuff altogether. I'll keep a tab open to scrounge for solutions and problem diagnoses in case this persists.

I did basically this, the only thing I didn't do was uninstall them and reinstall.
I will try that.

Thank you so much for being this incredibly helpful and with lightning fast replies.

You're very welcome. I hate being unable to do the things I enjoy for really absurd reasons like this, and just seeing people struggle in general, so I'm glad to be able to help like this.

(That totally has nothing to do with why I went out of my way to make a a new written guide on this game after the original got wiped off the face of the planet, why would you even think that-)

Absolutely OD!!
This worked instantly!
What I did was uninstall all the fuckers and then did the Jump Jump trick and it worked.
Definitely one of those things that when it works it frustrates you because of how """easy""" it was or how it should have just worked in the first damn place.

Thank you so seriously much, for real!

This is what I ended up looking like lmao

Many people have mentioned it but...
He has never learned what good control schemes are after allllll these years.
Like, just copy the common metroidvania or action-H game control scheme and add your unique things.
Even Shiro is really awkward with the controls, but it at least tells you them (if you can read some Japanese).

Animations still great though (and Succubus Affection was fantastic but he had help making that one lol) and he actually is working on it, if he doesn't just *keep* working on it we should actually eventually get a full game.

Edit:
I looked earlier in the thread and I was glad to see many people saying what I thought a while back: Shiro should get its own thread. Plain. Simple.

Congrats! I'll make sure to write down exactly what you did so I can give this information to others later in case the same issue pops up for them. I think what the issue was with Jump Jump is that it couldn't download the proper things because a few files made it believe it was already there. As they say, Knowing Is Half The Battle. (G. I. JOE-)

Navigating to see where the controls are is slightly annoying if you don't already know the controls, but FOBS does tell you what they are by default. And in fairness to Zell, the controls *are* managable. A bit too spaced out, but workable enough. Personally, I changed the jump button from Space to X and that worked wonders for me.

I know, right?
Some times I really wonder whether we are all just not smart enough to just see the easy from the get go or if we are all doomed to just endlessly overcomplicate things for ourselves.
It is an everlasting mystery indeed. :HideThePain:

I for one voted for a dev thread where all their games end up on.
Like FOBS, those horror projects or that alice thing although I am unsure whether they actually made it or just did the art in it.

Supreme Dumbass of Thyme For me it's:
Map = M
Speed up game = R
Masturbate = S
Dash = Shift
Jump = Spacebar
Fully fill cum bar = E
Attack = A
Switch weapons = Q (no other weapons yet)
Monster ability = D
Switch monster ability = W
Menu = Tab
Menu switching = Q/W
Menu navigation = left/right arrows

I have not changed anything ever in any build.
I could post my keybinds in order if anyone wants to copy them.

Yeah, like I said, this is manageable to me. The only real problem is the fact that jump is assigned to the spacebar since it's annoying even with my really lanky fingers, but it's not so egregious that being unable to use any other button would kill me.
