Ren'Py feels more or less like a comic book with options involved. And it's understandable that some people prefer that, which makes Ren'Py superior in their opinion.

RPGM gives more focus on the game's environment and is superior to players that likes to explore. RPGM also gives more room for the developers for hidden secrets in the games. Which gives their games replay values, when the player can't be sure if he found everything at the end of the game. I consider myself more like an explorer, which makes RPGM superior to me.

But it's obvious that "Forest Rhapsody" attract two kinds of players. I think that's thanks to the story-making.

One solution would be if the developer made an option at the start-up-menu of the game where you could choose your gaming-style. I don't know if it's possible. But if it is and if the developer would do that... we would all consider us as winners in this.

Those are very good points. I honestly enjoy a well made RPGM game myself. I did want to throw in that some developers can make a really good game using RENPY where they also add a map to let the player navigate from place to place, which is HUGE in my book. It really, really adds to the enjoyment. And if they can also add a character card page, then it takes it to another level! These don't need to be beautiful to work, they just need to be functional.

Well, would you continue a game that's making less than $2US a month? I hate to say it, but, the dev might just walk away. I wouldn't blame him at all.
I blame his decision change engine from RPGM to Ren'Py. From dark and bit depresive atmosphere he make another Powerpoint porn show and this probably break neck this game.

It's been a year since the last update so it's not that surprising that it's earning less.

Also, I think the audience invested in this is quite less. Either way, This is really sad.

It's always sad when devs walk away from their games. I was heartbroke when Windward abandoned his game. He was doing everything right with it. But, it is what it is.

I also wouldn’t blame the patron that are not interested in supporting this unlikely to continue project.
Patreon always has and will always be content first than money comes not otherwise.
If the dev is doing it for money he better go flip burgers at wendys

I never played the rpgm of this or any other game. Not my thing.
RGPM sucks!
Being horny from eyecandy in Ren'py to be blueballed by playing with childish 2d puppets clicking on a map.
To get excited again by 3d beauty.
Followed by disappointing clicking on a 2d eighties map again.
aso
STOP RPGM in porngames!!!!

It was being made by 2 devs. Johnny Doe and GSGC. Johnny claims that GSGC ghosted him. According to Johnny GSGC possesed all of the art assets and without him the project simply cannot continue.
Here is the Dev.

You can search through his post history or ask him yourself. Or look through the thread. Johnny's explanation is in here sometime around Spring 2021.
