If you're on windows with a fairly new computer, download LM studio, then search inside the program to find the Nemo Instruct 2407 abliterated and download that inside of LM studio. Then you run it and follow the local AI setup for the game on the main itch.io page.

danm the ais give some funny moments on this game

"Your school reputation soars like never before; whispers turn into urgent conversations, and soon, everyone knows about 'The Battle of The Blowjobs' and your triumphant emergence as Queen of Sluts."

laughed quite some at this one XD

If I were to add locations to the slime world map, would it break anything? (How it just has Ashburn) I'm contemplating adding places like the Ashburn Research Facility, Industrial Park, storm drain system, etc, then possibly specializing the slimes/items found within.

Figure it's easier to ask than spending hours creating new stuff and breaking it.

I'm genuinely think (after fooling around with some options myself) that this is basically just a conditions, a frame for this AI. You drew the borders - AI generating text within this borders. In worst case scenario you will just get nothing new. Give it a try, tell us what you got.

Whelp, I decided to try and host my own model which is working but now all of the rules I had set on how to talk to the AI or give it commands are completely out the window as its using everything I type in the story. Anyone know how to force it to respond outside of the story?

I am at the stage I wrote huge rules for my world, all prompts setup and the only issue now is memory with stats over the long term.
I scanned your entire itch.io page and noticed you mention in one post about adding local indexDB.
Is this something you are still working on?
I am using local AI (and do website developmnt locally anyways) so I was going to start linking a mySQL database to see if it helped with stats like inventory andsuch (as you already said you will not allow text as a stat option).

I'll give it a poke today and report back.

So far it looks like you are right. I'm thinking you'll have to be more specific if you want the AI to have a specific limit of actions or encourage certain paths though. But it's something to explore and figure out.

Well I was going to post this in the Itch discussions as it's now relevant there but Itch flagged my account after I've only ever posted once which was the other day, informing people that OpenRouter has a hard daily limit on free AI model requests. *Shrug* well hopefully I can get since help here.

I was originally using the devs AI which worked pretty well beyond eventually just forgetting everything and ruining scenarios so I decided to host my own after I found this post. However, I am having issues where the AI will not be very descriptive and only writes like 3-4 lines. It also will not add the dialog my character is saying into its responses.

The other main issue I have as after a bit of time the AI seems to get certain data stuck in it as it keeps adding the same lines into every response, sometimes multiple times in a response.

Lastly, I am unable to get the AI to respond to questions or commands that it will not try to use inside the story. With the devs, I was able to ask it enough times by calling it AI and asking it how I can do certain things. Eventually it told me that if I use "!info," (w/o quotes) the anything after it would consider a command or question that it would not use in the story. I was able to get it to spawn enemies, alter behaviors, and much more. But the ones I am using now just ignore it no matter how many times I ask. Any ideas how to force or train it to respond outside the story?

I have tried two different models which are:

qwen2.5-7b-instruct-uncensored

mistral-7b-instruct-v0.3-abliterated

Are my issues just due to them being newer and not as experienced as the devs? Also I have tried adding the prompts from the guide and the giant list of ones from ArlostRVN. But these didnt seem to help. I made sure I restarted the world to make sure the prompts take effect though I am not sure if you have to or if they're used right away.

Please let me know if you need anymore information or is you have ideas on how to help.

Update: Well good news, I got the Mistral 7b AI to listen finally to the same commands as the what the devs AI was responding to. I think the Mistral Instruct has been semi trained in a similar way so it understands it but it takes time for it to understand that you're trying to interact with it outside of the story. I did add rules to try to help this but it took time before it finally did. Now I just need it to not get stuck with data it uses over and over again and to be more descriptive and I am in a good place to start building my world again.

The Itch.io discussions has solutions I believe as I no others have asked there.

For those that have done world building or editing one. I am looking to eventually force progressing the day by having to sleep at my home (new location) but not sure how to do this since each action regardless of how long it feels based off the story is 1hr according to the time and from my experience you can't edit the timer or have the AI edit the timer unless you make the AI track its own. So I am not sure how to handle this as I may share this out later if I feel its in a good spot later.

I think the AI just said 'Well if you think you can do it better, here take the reins.' LMAO

That... I think you accidentally stumbled over something that could honestly be a very interesting setting in itself. Role reversal, where YOU guide the player, and the AI is the player, doing stuff in the world.

Does anyone know if the stat descriptions for level thresholds is used by the AI for context or does it just pull the text to use it as a description when asked your current stats? I never know if I could use that as rules for when a threshold is hit, allow X to happen to player from now on.

Haha I didn't even think of it that way. I was just more annoyed it seemed to be pouting while I was trying to give it rules to play by so I could continue making my world. I may have to revisit that at a later date though. *Hmm*

How did you set up those rules? I tried using that !info, command, but the ai just ignores it and uses it as a normal input for events.
Also, does anyone know is theres a way to make the AI make a choice in the actions you make. I mean, say something like 50% chance you trip if you run and 50% you dont. And then if you say that your character runs, that this chance is used for the event.
Thx in advance

It took me a while to get my new one to start listening to it as well but it seems like Mistral versions were trained in a similar way as they seem to take to it faster. It took about a day as the first night it completely ignored me in every way but the next day I just keep asking things like.

!info, AI How can I give you a rule to follow?

!info, AI How can I edit my stats?

Keep asking about aspects of the game you want to control and I eventually got mine to listen as the AI and not the narrator of the story. Also I added these rules into Game Text Prompt in settings which may have helped.

When the prompt starts with "!", the player is asking questions or giving commands outside of the story.

After I got it to listen and allow me to add new commands. I figured out commands that worked for it to help me and added them to the World Building when editing the worlds such as:

- Anytime '!info,' is typed at the beginning, everything that follows will not be used in the story but will be used as commands or questions outside of the story.

My current AI: mistral-7b-instruct-v0.3-abliterated

You could also try adding that rule to the world rules itself.

Side note: Also you need to be careful on what you say in a rule I have noticed. I would try something like "If the player runs, they will trip 50% of the time." I have noticed that if someone is not specific enough then the AI may use it whenever it chooses to which can be funny but also confusing. I recently had it altering a stat that initially I said will increase over time but then I had other rules saying it can only go up by 1 point and only during 'X' circumstances but the AI would make it constantly go up over time no matter what.
