Im saying you can go in with no story or anything, if you can make hot scenes thats what matters. An example of a dev that does this is Mercenarys Adventure thats about as generic as it gets. Thats as sexually vanilla as it gets. Combat is simple, questlines are simple.. But all it needs to be good is to have hot scenes and lots of them. His first two games are more generic with less story, the second game being a parody of generic RPG stories and the first game glosses over most of the story. From what I can tell this is one of the more successful series on dlsite and thats just because its hot.
Make hot scenes and work from there. No one minds a cheesy, half-assed plot in a porn scene either.

i do mind, alot, actually. i started playing FET for the story, and the special style of humor was the cherry on top. way less for the scenes, that's secondary for me, in a game. without story, it's just some gallery. that's not interesting for me. i play games for the sake of playing. if othery want just a fapbook, fine, couldn't care less, but it's not my thang. i don't see it as a game then.

Truly. I started to play FET because of a friend's recommendation, and simply thought of it as a brainless porn game, but it turned out to be quite the surprise. I think it's fair to say that without the (sometimes premature, callow) humour—and excellent dialogues—, FET wouldn't be the same, and is pretty much the essence of it. The “hot” scenes are merely supplementary, at least for me (book 2 is a good example on how to execute it). — What would we do without our favourite babe Shady, anyway?
I see the problem now, you think Im talking about the end experience while Im actually talking about someone getting started in game development. With FET it started focused on the scenes with a simple story in bk1. Just Aang saving a village and getting to lewd Katara. Its not until bk2 that the story becomes more involved, more girls, substantial route differences and all that. FET started out being hot as the focus and like any good dev they built their skills from bk to bk or project to project.
Look at most successful H devs and they started off on small projects, with simple stories and basic gameplay. With Mercenary's Adventure I was harsher on the story than it deserved to prove a point but even there where the story is meant to be simple the dev has come a long ways since their first game.
Imagine youre a talented dev, do you start off trying to make an ambitious game with your dream story? Most burn out doing that. Focus on the core experience, for H-games thats the scenes and the girls (if straight anyway). So make something someone would want to play and then make it sophisticated if you want after. You can always add story later. Executing the idea is secondary. Unique and interesting gameplay is pointless if the core experience isnt there.
Besides if you wanted to be successful most successful H-games are hot. FET itself wouldnt be so popular if it wasnt hot. Maybe some devs dont care if they are successes but it still feels better if people enjoy what you made.
And I do get people play games for different reasons. But analyze the successful games if you want to make H games. Correct me if Im wrong but they all started out being hot.

That will be logical mate...but if they do that how will they blame depression and burnout to delay the game and get some free payday months in the wallet
I do feel like a reason MITY are as successful as they are is that pretty much every release has new content. I'm not talking about release timing or delays, lots of developers spend so many updates remastering old scenes because they're not up to their new standards but thats just a month without content for most.
I think the strategy of moving on to new scenes with reckless abandon has been a good idea. Maybe after they're done the can spend a few months polishing up the earlier scenes, that way everybody who wants to continue supporting knows what they're getting.

Hey everyone, I have the 0.8.6d version. Can I just straight up download the latest .9.3e version and not lose any of my progress (reached Toph)? And can I delete the older ver after downloading the new one without risk of losing save?

Yes, you can delete the old version and still use your old saves. Just don't overwrite files.

slave route. I talk to everyone and, when i go to the palace, the game tell me that I'm at 3/5 on toph.
I believe you have to repeat every sex scene with Toph, not 100% sure though.

It'd be easier to say the artist said it would be out any day now.
Whether that's true or not, I guess we'll see.
They already said from last week that a bug hunt version should be here this week.
