The funny thing is, MITY (the artist) is probably on the level of the coder in terms of skill. He knows how to put together and release a Ren'Py game with images, dialogue, variables, story progression, a map screen and so on, as evidenced by the Halloween side story. He absolutely could just work on the game by himself if he wanted to (minus some of the more complicated minigames), and he's already said as much. I don't agree that he SHOULD, though. As a backup sure, but hiring a guy is much better.
The artist is the one calling the shots and the owner of the project as far as I know. Not sure who/what MITY refers to or if that moniker exists outside their Patreon page though.

Nothing Underage,
has a lot of possible female characters,
and has not been a type of trainer before.
I think the only possible choices could only be 'Johnny Bravo' or 'Samurai Jack'

Also, underage is an easy fix, age up like he did here.
Looking back on it now, I think a sensible explanation is that it's a project made by two anonymous friends who knew each other beforehand. Hence why they wouldn't want to hire anyone else on, or why "the artist" is so lenient with "the coder".
Well, there goes half of your prospective fanbase.

Actually for the largest group possible you'd want to have as many niches as possible but nothing particularly bizarre as the core story. So Furries/ Lolis / BDSM/ etc may have some representation but each should only be optional rather than mandatory.... Hell throw in a Trap but also leave every hint in the book in so no one is going in being tricked.
Also, it is possible to have a new trainer with the same source material but it shouldn't be a well-known trainer/popular trainer and should have a different core premise.

there are so many potential series to "spoof", if you include anime the list gets even bigger! however, i trully hope no naruto, dont get me wrong, the series has some great lookers, and a very interesting setting that is open to alot of fun, however, we already have more than enough projects about them.
if i could pick one, however, i would probably pick either Family guy, the incredibles OR Dexter's lab. the last one could very well open a "multiverse" kind of story, and bring along alot of CN's characters.
