"Hey all! Time for me to tell you about how the new build is coming together. My original plan was to have a bughunt version ready about today. I'm relatively close to that, but I changed things halfway around during this build(always a fantastic way to introduce bugs) and why I pretty much went dark for a while. You'll have noticed that if you sent me a dm. Let's just say I'll be replying to those for at least the remainder of today. The reason why I changed things halfway was because I wanted to have another character show up during the festival whom we haven't seen yet in FET.
Now it's NOT going to be a big thing. Its just a character whom I recently saw again while watching an episode of ATLA and realized I had a really good opportunity to add her during the festival. You'll be disappointed once you find out who it is(guaranteed!) I actually have to break some cartoon canon stuff to include her, but it's not like FET isn't doing that all the time anyway, right? Still, there are certain things I dislike doing since it strays too far from the cartoon.
I have a few "rules" for myself so to speak. More like guidelines... I'm certain others would find it quite hilarious to know what I do and don't like changing and immediately pick out the inconsistencies. Anyway, What I'm trying to say is, I wanted to add more to the build since I'm planning on leaving the South Pole and end the festival which would pretty much close off the possibility to include the extras which I want to include. Well... not entirely but it would make things faaar more bothersome to add later on.
So my current plan is to take tomorrow and the weekend to see how far I can get with all of that. If all goes well and the bugs in my internal version aren't insane(which they currently still are) I miiiiight have the bug verison ready on a Sunday evening (crosses fingers), but if I can't get it done by then I'm very much leaning on my "ready when it's done"- leg. ...But I also don't want to make you wait too long so I'll see how things are in a few days.
TLDR: I hope to have a bughunt version ready for the new FET build on a Sunday after which the bughunt tier crew can mess about with it first for a couple of days.
If that's NOT going to be a thing, I'll reevaluate. Just telling you here and now to give you some false hope : )
So the reason why I all of a sudden wanted to add a character is because I just happened to see her while watching an ATLA episode.
I DON'T watch those often because I don't want them to become so ingrained in my brain that it becomes drab and gray. I've destroyed a lot of stuff which I liked by listening or watching it over and over again without much time in between. So when I do watch the ATLA cartoon, I make it a special occasion thing.
In fact I recently saw an advertisement for a projector and started considering whether that wouldn't be a great way to watch ATLA. I usually watch all my media on a pc screen and that's not incredibly... exciting/special.
I've never had a projector before and I know little about it so I've gotten myself a rather cheap one if only so I can start getting some experience to go with all the terms I read about in reviews for projectors. Ansi lumens etc isn't going to mean a thing to you if you don't have something to compare it to. ATLA isn't exactly available in 4k format so I doubt a high end projector would really be worth it regardless.
Anyway...the first episode I watched on my el cheapo projector, was the episode with the character I decided to add. There's just something about seeing ATLA on a 110 inch screen

! Especially the intro where the camera flies over the world is impressive on a large screen.
At first it was just projected on a white sheet I had lying about, but I finally got an actual projector screen yesterday which makes it look a lot better.
It's been a while since I've drawn something for one of these art updates so I decided to do so again today and draw the three girls whom I like drawing together best! A bigger and nopantsu version can be found in the attachment.
That's it again for this update. I hope to have something ready soon!"
