There's slightly more content for love route but I highly recommend playing both routes. Just keep in mind book 1 isn't really up to par anymore compared to the other books.

If you do the first book it's irrelevant, both are practically the same with some flavour changes.
2nd book has overall better content in the Love route.
3rd book has different content for both, but similar game-play and the fourth book has radically different content in both.
So you definitely want to replay the fourth book with a different route and maybe the 3rd book as well.

Both routes in the later books offer very different experiences and have different scenes, characters, and sometimes even time periods. I'd recommend playing in "release order", first to play book 1 (whatever route, it was more a proof of concept, it isn't worth a replay) and then book 2 slave > book 2 love > book 3 slave > book 3 love(...) you get the gist.

Also, I highly, HIGHLY recommend you install the gallery mod. It's essential. If playing both routes isn't your thing. At least have access to the scenes in the gallery.

Funny you mention that, I would recommend playing the slave route too, but thinking about it. Book 2 love route is when Mitty finally gets it, that book is pretty much the summation of his style and what we love about his game.
Ember island will forever be the best set-piece of the entire game.

I expect at least preggo sex after that tease in the marriage. Mitty released the 1.0 bug hunt edition over half a month ago, I doubt that 1.0.0b will be only bug fixes.

Its the end of Book 4, we still have Book 5 the epilogue.
This final version is just the polished version of Book 4 end.

Well there is the early bug hunt 1.0.0a of the final version already posted on the front page. The actual final version 1.0.0b or c is in the works. The version posted has the end of the game in it but there may be more scenes added to the b or c version(Marty mentioned this when he posted 1.0.0a). So the game is mostly finished at this point.
I have not wanted to play the early bug hunt ver. because I want to see the actual final build. The game is essentially over.

If he's done with it in a single update or will he milk it for a few months?

The game is finished. There will be some polishing and if we're lucky one or two last scenes with the last update. And that's it.

Yes, and that's what we got with version 1.00a. There won't be anything more other than the things I just mentioned.
