Don't set your hopes too high. If they have 3-4 updates that are on schedule then I'll assume that they are back on track but I'd keep my expectations low until they have proven that they should be high.
No Problem but here's the big differences between the Slave and Love route.
Not counting Book 1, the Slave Routes and the Love Routes are really completely different games with different themes. This 'game' is actually a framework to hold several (seven and counting) moderate sized games with an overarching plot. Book 3 is probably a bit closer to book 1 with the slave routes being CLOSE to the love route, but there is still so much difference it would count as a different game. They often don't even reuse CG's between the routes. In Books 2 and 4, you don't even play as the same person between the two different routes.

Can't you just start a new game then go to chap 4 directly? On the map screen you don't have to go through all the chapters in order.
